“A lovely hotel with good food and facilities, would recommend.”

Second year in a row here. Were upgraded to a suite which was great, two bedrooms and lounge with two shower rooms. Room was clean and cleaner came 6 out 7 days as instructed on arrive. I love the food at this hotel, lots of choice and freshly cooked food, not sure why people complain. No issues with all-inclusive drinks, however there can be quite a queue at the pool bar. The upstairs bar is lovely to relax in after dinner. The gym facilities are good, they moved into new area by kids club during our stay but was fine. There is a lovely beach around 10 mins walk with bars and restaurants. The pools were very cold but as expected for this time of year. The kids water park was good however I would suggest to the hotel a life guard should be present to enforce the rules and check on safety. Whilst there a number of children hurt themselves, rules state parents should be present but of course were not. We had to help a number of them. Staff were very friendly and looked like they enjoyed their jobs. Our little man is already planning for our next trip here.

I came here with my mum, who has mobility issues from 11th -18th April 24. We booked here last minute as the hotel we originally booked had building work. We had low expectations but open minds considering the negative reviews on here. To start with the positives: The reception staff were very helpful and allocated us a room closer to all the facilities. The room was spacious, towels were changed whenever we asked for it. The main pool was good, if a bit cold... but that's to be expected considering it's April. The food was plentiful. We liked the location being only a short work (or mobility scooter ride) to Flamingo Beach and the promenade. As there are paths all around the place, it was easy for my mum to get around despite the ever-present broken lift (which was fixed when I questioned about it on our arrival before breaking again the next day). The gardens were lovely...full of beautiful and interesting plants. The weather was amazing and we had a relaxing time. The not so goods: A lot of the restaurant and bar staff (not all of them) were sullen and disinterested (there was not enough of them and they were run off their feet morning to night though so couldn't really blame them). Our room was not properly cleaned for when we arrived or throughout our stay. We reported this over several days via the TUI reps (who were great), but nothing changed. It was the bathroom that was the worst in terms of cleanliness. None of it was cleaned during our stay (the bin was emptied, though). We did not like having to put loo roll in a bin rather than down the loo... that really needs looking at. It also had mouldy silicone in the shower. As someone in facilities management for a job, I know that this is an easy fix, so why wasn't it taken care of long ago? I believe the lack of cleaning and maintenance is also due to a shortage of staff. Our room had ants... all the time. All of the public areas look tired and a bit run down, the surrounds of the pools (the plastic covers around the edges) were brown in places...some were broken (it would take no effort to change them for new), the sunbed areas had worn out block paving. The sunbed areas were washed down each night but really need a good sweep, too. They don't seem to clean under the four poster bed style sunbeds (of which many were broken, so you can't sit up on them), they are filthy underneath. The food was often cold or barely warm. We didn't have a hot meal during the week we were there. It was also quite monotonous in terms of the options available. It was tasty food, though, in my opinion. The snack area was really very poor in terms of choice, temperature of the food, and presentation - in a dark corner of the pool bar. Drinks served in paper cups: shocking in this day and age. I could go on... I can see why this is rated 4* with the facilities it has, but frankly, I feel currently it is more like a 2.5 or 3 star at best. I'm aware there are staff shortages in the Canaries in general, but the management should try harder to staff the place up. They also really need to close it down for a period of time and give it some love and attention in all areas to bring it up to what it could be, a fantastic place. It has the potential to be amazing. As for us, we wouldn't stay here again unless things change.
