What a relief 😅 we arrived on the 31st of March for 11 nights and after the reviews leading up to our trip on social media and on trip advisor we were unsure whether not to cancel we need not of worried! Yes the hotel needs some TLC in parts however all staff worked tirelessly, cleaners, gardeners, reception and maintenance. The food was hot and plenty of choice and all meal times and the snack area even supplied packets of sandwiches which were also great if you didn’t want a big lunch. I travelled with a very fussy eater and he happily ate 3 meals a day everyday without complaint. The rooms are clean and spacious my mum had a superior suite, which was large clean and replenished with tea, coffee, sugar etc and towels and bedding changed regularly. I will say if you want milk you would need to buy this on your travels or from the onsite shop there is a fridge in the rooms. We had a superior twin this wasn’t as palatial as the suite but it was clean and towels and bedding changed as required. The only downside was the entertainment, although the team worked hard it was repetative and not much happening in the day for teenagers, however he found the football pitch great and played with other children and parents in the afternoons and early evenings. Please do not let the reviews put you off it really was a great place for a family break.

We read some bad reviews before we traveled so I wanted to give my own experience as we had a lovely family holiday. We traveled with an 8 yr old and 3 yrs old. Our bungalow was perfect for our stay. It was clean, plenty of space, two bathrooms and two pull out sofa beds with 2 TVs. Bright, modern and airy. We had a clean mini fridge and outdoor sitting area which meant we could use the room as a home from home. One bathroom had exposed roof which let in dust and leaves on the windy days but this was cleaned the next day by the cleaners and we used the other bathroom anyway. You have to put toilet paper in the bin but these were emptied every day except Friday so no problem. Plenty of wardrobe space and hangers. The hotel was kept clean. Gardens and grounds were well maintained. Paving is tired and needs updating soon. We complained that the water was running brown in our room but a technician came and changed the filters. You have to drink bottled water anyway. It was a busy week over Easter so we didn’t use the main pool or baby pool and preferred the quieter large pool out of the way. Our girls loved the water slides that were open 12pm till 5pm. I was glad they were not open all day as I felt I had to watch them closely as no life guard on duty there and was a mix age of kids. We went all inclusive. Although plenty of food at lunch and tea the quality of the food was cheap meat (burgers, chicken nuggets and cheap sausages). Breakfast was nice. For daytime the Salads were fresh. Pizzas, breads and chips were all fresh. Deserts were really tasteless. We managed to find something to eat each day though. We chose to eat out in town at lunch and have a small amount at the hotel at tea time. Also people didn’t dress up for tea. Many families ate straight from being at the pool. That’s not the hotels fault but rather the customers it attracts. Drinks were low quality larger, wine, dilute squash or fizzy soft drinks. Everything else had to be paid for so not really all inclusive. Hotel provided hand sanitiser around food stations which was good and in use. Location is great. Nice walk along sea front into town and easy taxi or bus ride to marina then slow walk back. Entertainment team were young and the kids liked them but maybe not to adults taste. They worked hard and were enthusiastic all week. We didn’t use the kids club as it was further away from our room but I think ours would have enjoyed it if they had gone. Although we enjoyed our stay and had a nice holiday I wouldn’t go back as I don’t think it’s 4* quality because of the food and drink options. There are 2 other restaurants but this was only open on Friday and was already fully booked. If you go you will have a nice holiday. Just don’t go expecting luxury.

Room was quite good - we had a suite. Room cleaning was disappointing - bare minimum. Pools areas were nice, clean and plenty space/sunbeds. Food was a pleasant surprise. Not gourmet - but there was good variety and we enjoyed what we ate. Burgers and sausages were low quality but everything else was fine. We never had any concerns around cleanliness and hygiene during our meals. Some of the scathing reviews I’ve seen do not reflect our experience. We ate out on 4 nights because we wanted to, not because we ‘had’ to. There are some excellent local restaurants. Drinks were slightly disappointing quality. They do have small, cheap, paper cups at the pool bar. But the restaurant and terrace bar use glass. I did buy a few measures of Johnnie Walker black label and the price was reasonable, All the staff we encountered were friendly and courteous. It was clear there weren’t enough of them as they were extremely hard working. It seems some corners were being cut on level of service because of staff numbers. Overall we had a nice holiday. I’m just not sure why the property is marketed by Tui as a 4* - it gives an unrealistic expectation of an entirely acceptable hotel.
