Where to start…. Our first family holiday with my fiancé and 1 year old daughter.L whic we paid £1080 for a week. We arrived at the hotel at 12:30pm and the Check in was from 3pm Our room was then ready from 3:45pm- I felt this could have been more of a priority for the for couples and families with younger children to get settled on their first day. In the meantime we got our bags and suitcases stored in the luggage room near reception and changed in the toilets upstairs, unfortunately the lift was out of service for our stay from the 28th April-5th may but we always used the side walkway near them climbing frame when coming and going. Our room was 1020b, it was modern and clean, some damaged to furniture like loose arm on sofa and slight dings on furniture but thats to be expected imo at a hotel which is used mainly by families with younger children and teenagers- no issues with smells of sewerage or discoloured water reported in other reviews on here and posts on facebook groups. - on this note their seems to be issues with multiple hotels and smells of waste water and sewerage which I found was coming from a pumping station opposite playa flamingo hotel the wind seems to intermittently blow it across multiple hotels in the area. A safe key was provided free of charge on request. The rooms were cleaned daily and had no issue with the bins to use instead of flushing toilet paper aslong and folded up and window was left ajar overnight etc Only 2 things I found to be disappointing was the small bins which we filled up daily And the lack of any English tv channels. I hired a fully loaded 4k firestick for the rest of our stay from the second day for €15 (search on playa blanca facebook pages for firestick) We had all tv channels movies sports etc for our entire stay using the hotel Wi-Fi. Pool towels can be changed Monday Wednesday and Friday and each require a 15 euro deposit which is refunded upon return at the end of your stay. Towels were collected from a hut near the pool and lifeguard station The on-site supermarket was reasonably priced selling toys, pool floats for babies and kids, souvenirs, milk, sweets, beer and cider etc- very useful open from 10am- 6pm Toilets, Pool areas and slides at the splash park were always clean, fresh and tidy, the 2 main main pool and kids pool was little cold but perfect for short periods to cool off etc - it seems the hotel has took on board previous bad reviews due to cleanliness as I always seen a cleaner around the pool restaurant and toilets throughout our stay. We used the main pool for the first few days due to using the pool bar more but then used the larger pool behind the entertainment arena and opposite the splash (splash parkopen from 12am-5pm) Drinks were good but not made with premium alcohol etc but I expected it from a all inclusive of this nature and came in paper cups, that didn’t make a massive difference to me personally although I did tip now and again and reused the paper cups afew times before throwing them away at the start of the holiday. We were then given reusable plastic cups that we used for the rest of the holiday. (If you buy a premium spirit etc then you also get given these cups ) We enjoyed the hot dogs and chips at the snack bar but the burgers were not our liking, our daughter made use of the ready made cold sandwiches,fruit and cakes Syrup on the /self serve sometimes run out where barstaff were slightly understaffed but was rectified once brought it their attention, it was only ever a 4/5 person deep que and plenty of ice available on request The food at breakfast was the best I’ve had on an all inclusive and was always hot, it was ideal because I could plan what I wanted before getting there. (Fresh omelettes, beans, hash browns, eggs etc- the bacon was the nicest I’ve had at an all inclusive with brown sauce etc I sometimes opted for bacon and egg sarnies). At lunch and dinner we always found a combination of things to fill our plates but my go to was soup and bread at dinner so I didn’t fill up on heavy food during the hottest part of the day etc. We decided to eat our more some days than eating in the hotel. We walked down to the port area a few time ( approx 15min walk) and had food at the curry house,kebab shop and utopia restaurant which all were lovely and also a nice treat to break up the holiday. Sports etc were always on at the Irish anvil bar and also a large spar supermarket on the main road. Playa flamingo beach was 10mins walk from hotel with cafes restaurants and larger supermarkets situated on the coral path along the back of the beach The beach itself was lovely white sand and very calm with lots of families etc (no umbrella’s at this beach though so early morning and late afternoon would be best to visit with young children etc) On Wednesday we visited the large market at the marina in the centre of playa Blanca which we the hotel called us a taxi for 7 euros each way- which i deffo recommend! We always used the hand sanitiser provided at the restaurants and washed our hands regularly although quite a few didn’t seem to care about their personal hygiene. We always wiped the baby seat and table and chairs down with clinical wipes which we packed in our hand luggage. Outside seats did seem to always have bird dropping on them sadly but that is nature. I feel the restaurant staff could clean them before service begins in future. We also used pocket size anti viral gel which I bought from aldi/lidl as a precaution (50ml for 55p) Entertainment was good for a range of ages and my young daughter lived the greatest showman and live singer. Overall we would return of a similar /slightly largest price as it is a great location but I feel there are better all inclusive options for over £1000. Any questions I’m happy to answer…

Hi just returned from the rio playa blanca. Very good value for money, Very good apartments with comfy beds,fab walking shower. The food is good ,not disappointed at all. Hi just returned from the rio playa blanca. Very good value for money, Very good apartments with comfy beds,fab walking shower. The food is good ,not disappointed at all. Sunny patio in apartment ,I think all the villas are the same ( east facing). The only problem was the lift was out of order.we had been told by other guests that it had been out of order for a month .i was with my elderly sister and it was very difficult for her to get from the pool to the lobbybar or entrance of hotel. One other thing , I am not a moneing type of person ,but or safe in our room was broken, long stories about it, to cut short about it ,are document had to be put in the reception safe, Which was the only alternative as we wher going to have to move villas. Which was to no add vantage to us. I think the hotel was full any way . So over all !!fab hotel would definitely go back.thank you Rio playa blanca.
