Kawaguchiko Hotel has the charm of a different era while still providing all the comforts we needed. Its location right next to the beautiful Lake Kawaguchi makes the stay even more special. Our room had a stunning view of Mount Fuji, which was truly unforgettable. The onsen were very clean, and the facilities excellent, a perfect way to relax after a day of exploring. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. Overall, the hotel was exactly what we needed for our stay in the area, and we thoroughly enjoyed both its amenities and the surrounding scenery. Highly recommended

Yes the carpets are a little stained and the wood a little worn, but this does not bother me. The onsen is a bonus. We ate at a very good restaurant a short walk. They also provide shuttle back to the station in the morning.

This is an older hotel built in the early fifties so although it's perfectly fine, it's style is dated. Not really a problem for most I think. This is an older hotel built in the early fifties so although it's perfectly fine, it's style is dated. Not really a problem for most I think. They have a GORGEOUS public onsen on the 4th floor with the most AWESOME view of Fuji San you'll ever see. Not only that, this onsen accepts tattoos!!! So thrilled and I felt so comfortable knowing I didn't have to hide my tattoos, my frilly bits, my boobs 😅. One downside is this hotel is a very long 2 hour drive from Shin-Fuji station and you'll almost circumnavigate Fuji to get there. But if you have the time go for it. There's a lake with funny paddle boats to ride and a kebab joint run by an Indian man speaking Urdu, Japanese and English all in the same sentence!. Kebabs are lovely but japan sized still filling, but my brothers would eat two. Try this place if you want quiet walks and beautiful views.

Great location and view of Mt Fuji. We stayed in a western room in the extension block, The rooms are very dated with old and shabby furniture with stained carpets .However the beds were comfortable and clean . The bathroom was also clean and had been modernised. The rooms were a good temperature , but the communal areas of the hotel were very cold . The Onsen was very lovely and we enjoyed using . The bar was not manned and you have to ask for load a card with money to use the self service wine. The reception was reluctant o supply the cards at first, but another member of staff helped. We made use of the washing a drying facilities which were resonable prices worked well. The reception able to provide change. We were only there 2 nights an it was fine for the purpose we required it for.
