“Seamless business on the beachfront”

Hotel is in a great location on the seafront and close to Barcelona airport. Buffet breakfast very good. Rooms are well appointed and WiFi works very well for completing video calls. Having stayed in a lot of 4 star hotels on business I have never been in a room without a door to the toilet. Upon enquiry I was told by head of housekeeping this is the norm. Solo travellers can live with this but as a couple this would be uncomfortable as the large glass window in the bedroom to the bathroom has no blind.

We picked hotel for a two week stay based on reviews and our previous positive experience in Castelldefels. Based on our experience we would not return here on future trips; first nights we got a horrible ground floor room next to the pool entrance and meeting rooms. After complaining they “upgraded “ us the second night to a first floor, town view room. Again after expressing our disappointment given a two week stay we got another partial ocean view room. Given the hotel was not full with many rooms unoccupied, we found this a very poor business decision. Other issues we had was a very poor wifi system and some staff not very friendly.example:we walked through restaurant to exit to the beach foe two weeks and the restaurant manager(?) who set there never said hi even when we said so. After that we decided never to eat there. The front desk ladies were lovely and the housekeeping staff exceptional. The beds were very comfortably firm, the shower and bathroom amenities great , the Nescafe machine-and coffee we really enjoyed. Another strange thing we found was the bedcovers… basically a heavy sheet and no blankets. Toward the end of our stay with the chillier nights they did not provide any warmth. … i just didn’t want to complain to staff so just let it go and used a sweater to keep warm.

I would so love to give this hotel a 5* review. It’s a beautiful hotel in an amazing location with easy train access into Barcelona and Sitges. The staff are absolutely lovely, the pool area is great and the breakfasts are excellent. The only problem is that we booked by email. We enquired about rooms and were offered a variety of different rooms at different prices. They never mentioned that they were offering us rooms down the road in apartment blocks. They were really quite shabby. The beds were comfortable but that was the only positive. And the rooms we ended up in were more pricey than the hotel rooms. We had full access to the pool/breakfast room but it was just gutting every morning to walk into the beautiful hotel that we thought we had booked. We mentioned it to reception who said this same confusion often occurs. So really it should be made clearer. So yes I’d def recommend the hotel but check you are actually booked into the hotel!
