“Great value, spacious 4-star”

Hard to fault. Spacious rooms, well-serviced, and with a well-equipped gym. Perhaps not the most internationally-friendly hotel, and a little far to the nearest metro station, but otherwise a great place to stay if in the area or wanting to get away from the busier parts of Shenzhen.

standard room for ~$100 (lower if with special rate). It claims to be 5 star, Chinese rate of 5 star is more like 2.5~3.5 star in US. If one stays in a hotel with less than $150/night in China, he/she shouldn't expect the staff is very good at English. Tip and warning: there is a SPA, pool, massage and karaoke place in the same building. But it is more like a business/adult place. They are in the same building but separated from the hotel tower. It is ok to have children stay in the hotel, but the pool area doesn't look like a family place. Plus: free drink in the in room refrigerator, including water, bear, coca, sprint. etc. This alone adds a star

“Neat fresh great value place ”

This is a mid-range (3.5 star) hotel. Very decent quality/value ratio. Rooms are quite good, but beware people are allowed to smoke in their rooms and there is a chance of second hand smoke. Breakfast is repetitive, uncreative but functional. Get a room away from the elevators.

The overall hotel experience is ok. Rooms are clean and spacious and we enjoyed the broad free selection of movies on the tv, many just released feature films were available. The breakfast buffet was disappointing and a bit gross after we saw a cockroach walk over the bread... not much ‘western’ options from a hotel that represents itself as a higher class hotel. Pool was crowded with kids swimming classes when we went, so make sure to go early morning or later in afternoon/evening.
