“Good room, good evening meal no cooked breakfast”

I had to find a reasonably priced room for the night at quite short notice because of a work commitment. I had to find a reasonably priced room for the night at quite short notice because of a work commitment. I wanted somewhere that I could get a quick meal at night and a cooked breakfast in the morning. The room was comfortable and clean and I slept well. The evening meal was served promptly which was good as I was on a deadline for a meeting. I was informed on check-in that no cooked breakfast would be available in the morning. I was offered a continental breakfast which I didn't want and so was offered a refund on the pre-payment I had made. This refund has not been received nearly two weeks later.

This is an old hotel that badly needs a refurb however our room was clean and comfortable (apart from the shower - see photo). Reception staff very helpful re. early check in. This is an old hotel that badly needs a refurb however our room was clean and comfortable (apart from the shower - see photo). Reception staff very helpful re. early check in. Don’t book this hotel unless you have a car as it’s a long way from the city centre and it didn’t seem to be on a direct bus route. Room was quite hot even on a cool day /night - no air conditioning, just a fan!
