We thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay at Le Mas De Castel. Our room was bright and very clean. In fact, the entire property was clean and well maintained. The bathroom was spacious with a walk in shower and separate toilet area. There was a nice assortment of breads, pastries, cereal, meats and cheeses for breakfast along with coffee, tea and juice. Karine and Roby were gracious and attentive hosts.

Wonderful, peaceful guest property with two wings, one with comfortable, modern rooms on one side of the main building and another closer to the pool with larger rooms with sliding glass doors overlooking a large meadow. Depending on your budget, either is spotlessly clean and the beds very comfortable. We stayed for four nights. The owners speak perfect English and we enjoyed watching the self-propelled robot mower cutting the grass while we sipped the wine they recommended to us from Bergerac. Their pool is heated, the atmosphere is serene, and their dining area is large, modern and looked out onto the pool and meadow. We had a slight problem with our booked room and they immediately gave us another rather than have us wait for repair to the TV cable. Le Mas De Castel is just a few minutes drive up into the hills above Sarlat, which is quite a charming town and an easy drive to most of the cave sites at Les Eyzies and Lascaux IV.

Lovely immaculately clean comfortable air conditioned room. Hosts very helpful and friendly and spoke good English. Breakfast buffet was plentiful and good with a range of items. Swimming pool excellent and a real bonus. Lovely grounds and good Location close to Sarlat.

We really enjoyed being in the country but so close to Sarlat. The rooms were on the smaller size but the wonderful terrace overlooking the huge garden, apple trees and strategically placed deck chairs, made up for that. We liked the seperate toilet and big shower and really enjoyed the refreshing … Plus

We really enjoyed being in the country but so close to Sarlat. The rooms were on the smaller size but the wonderful terrace overlooking the huge garden, apple trees and strategically placed deck chairs, made up for that. We liked the seperate toilet and big shower and really enjoyed the refreshing pool after the heat of the day. Breakfast ( indoors or out) was typically French with a huge basket of very fresh baked items for every guest. The owners were always around, so drinks were available all day. Because of the heat, we would have liked a fan in the room; but what we really missed was a small fridge (under the basin in the bathroom?) for milk and water. A very relaxing and restorative stay.
