“Convenient and good for the price”

We got a hotel room for the night near LAX since we're leaving in 2 groups EARLY the next day. The first group just took an Uber to the airport which is only 6 miles away; and my group had to drop off a car. Otherwise, the train stop to get to the airport train stop is only a mile away. However, only take the train route if you have HOURS to kill before your flight time. So the hotel is super convenient. There are 2 other hotel chains next door, and I go shopping at that Costco up the street when I used to live in LA so this is a super safe neighborhood. I am bummed about the fact that I had to skip the free breakfast in order to meet my flight times, as the hotel had a good spread when I passed by it in the morning when I checked out. The front desk at check-in was nice and helpful, but he was busy helping someone else on the phone and I had to wait to get checked in instead of acknowledging me first. The front desk at check-out was not too helpful based on my SO's interaction with the lady. We got a suite with a pull out couch and 2 beds, so it was perfect for our group of 4. There's a kitchenette, and a work desk. There's no view to speak of, but then again, it's an overnight stay. If you have an Elite status, the only thing they can give you is a higher floor, as the rooms are pretty much the same. My only pet peeve, and it's more because I'm an old person is the shampoo bottles' design. My 50-something eyes had a hard time making out which is a shampoo v. which is a shower gel, due to font color and design. Oh, and my elderly group member experienced having to deal with a false alarm event of climbing up and down the stairs 4 floors each way. The room looks clean, very well-appointed, and it's fairly quiet and safe, which is my basic needs when it comes to a hotel room. I will stay there again because of the free breakfast.

“Overall a good stay.”

Hotel was on the newer side and in the middle of a Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites. Hotel was clean. Room was clean. Used the pool each evening of stay and it was generally clean. Hotel was on the newer side and in the middle of a Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites. Hotel was clean. Room was clean. Used the pool each evening of stay and it was generally clean. Hotel breakfast was as expected. Nothing extra, had the basics. One negative was the room air conditioner. It was louder than normal. It would make weird sounds when it turned on which woke me up at night. After the first night I would cool the room down before getting into bed and then turn the unit off so it didn’t turn on during the night.

This hotel did a good job with hiding its renovations. The only visible work was the padded elevators but audibly we could hear the construction off and on when we were in our room during the day. They did not have any one bedrooms suites available due to the renovations so adjoining rooms were offered. Nice to have two bathrooms and bigger rooms. The gym equipment could use an upgrade as the barbell set was incomplete and at least one of the treadmill displays was on the fritz. They had a new filtered water dispenser in both the gym and the lobby. Great option to reduce reliance on bottled water. Breakfast was as expected with the standard make your own waffles, powdered eggs, sausage and seasoned potatoes for the hot offerings. Was surprised to see cold brewed coffee which was a lot better than their hot coffee! Parking is now $20 a night so it’s an annoyance markup.

“Pool not working ”

The pool is not heated. The pool Is not clean. The hot tub is not heated. Basketball court fence is broken. The hotel provides the basics but the main reason for our stay was to use the pool and hot tub.
