We two adults just spent a lovely week in a studio at La Licorne. We had a great welcome from Audrey at reception, who was helpful and friendly throughout the week. The building’s near the top of Belle Plagne. Skiing in is easy: take the ski path on the left at the BellePlagne signpost at the end of the Arpette and Tunnel blue runs. Then it’s just a few stairs and a short distance along a wooden walkway to reach the 5th floor of La Licorne. So is skiing out - take the same route up and out via 5th floor, or down via La Licorne’s reception: both routes take you onto blue pistes that run through Belle Plagne and past the Roche de Mio bubble mid-station. Given that it was the last week of March and sunny every day, the pisteurs managed to keep the runs in pretty good shape, even down to Bellecote where it got slushy by the end of each day. A few minutes’ walk below La Licorne were the smaller of the two Spar supermarkets, the ski shop Belle Plagne Sports II, the Deep Nature spa (fabulous - don’t miss it), and the K2 restaurant (recommended). And, although the walking routes through Belle Plagne’s network of stairs/lifts/walkways took a day or two to fathom, we weren’t far from all the restaurants, bars, and shops, including the unmissable patisserie. Our studio was on floor 3, with truly panoramic views and unforgettable sunsets from our balcony. It was type C for 2-4 people, and was a lot roomier than we expected. The bunks were fine (nicely cosy, with sheets + blankets amply warm), the bathroom was well fitted out with a powerful and well regulated shower, and the main room/kitchen was very liveable - well lit and furnished. There was an impressive range of storage - much more than we needed for just 2 of us - with cupboards and shelves neatly fitted into corners of the hallway, a vast high shelf for bags, and drawers under the bunks and sofa. There were wall hooks in hall and bathroom, and in each room there were plenty of power points. The kitchen was well enough kitted out, and having to check the inventory on day 1 was useful, rather than burdensome - it was handy to know what we had. The whole place was clean enough on arrival, and easy to keep tidy throughout the week. All in all, we loved La Licorne, thought it excellent value, and would definitely go again.

“Great place to stay in fab resort”

Great location, online check in easy and great reception team, very close indoor parking, quick walk to ski school and resort. Genuinely ski in ski out. Appts are quite cosy so book as big as you can afford for a good stay
