Catch Buffet Restaurant = misleading information We visited the buffet restaurant “Catch” this morning at the Hilton. The service was friendly and prompt and the food lovely. However, the pricing on the webisite is misleading. We were expecting to pay for two adults as children under 13 are free (per the website) however, when we arrived we were advise this is only for guests staying at he Hilton. = so be warned you will have to pay for children if not staying at the hotel,

“Not what we had hoped for”

Good location to walk to the beach. The location is loud and we could hear the bars until about 3am. The atmosphere at the hotel was a party, which was the exact opposite type of atmosphere we had hoped for. The room and view were excellent. Good location to walk to the beach. The location is loud and we could hear the bars until about 3am. The atmosphere at the hotel was a party, which was the exact opposite type of atmosphere we had hoped for. The room and view were excellent. However the customer service was below average and the location felt more like a college spring break. We would not return to this location or hotel as we want something more quiet and relaxed.

We stayed at the Hilton as part of a family holiday with 2 young children, the website states it’s suitable for families however I don’t think it is. The room was nice with a beautiful view and roomy enough for us, everything is however starting to date a wee bit and could do with a revaml. However, the noise from the nightclubs in the weekends was loud enough to be heard from the 21st floor with the doors shut and over the noisy aircon. The resort facilities itself are also not really suitable for a family. We booked this place for the kids splash pool and slide, and the deck bar however, the slide and pool were out of order. The weather was a wee bit cooler while we were there so the outside pools were freezing, and the indoor pool was also too cold for young kids which meant the indoor spa was full of kids. All in all, it’s a nice hotel, just not really for families.

Do I recommend this place? Yes with a caveat. Will we stay here again? Most likely no. We stayed for 5 nights at the Hilton surfers paradise in a 2 BR ocean view apartment as part of a luxury escapes package. Overall, the architecture is beautiful.. lobby is good. Restaurants/gym/pool area are all nice but overall the age of the property/items in the room are catching up.. The bad Minor things with the room - Sink blocked in the first 5 mins.. microwave locked, tv remote was fiddly, button on clothes dryer comes off…Bluetooth speaker in one of the rooms seemed damaged (had muffled sound).. washing machine sliding door was noisy and didn’t close properly. The main room door and fridge door closed properly 80% of the time, rest you have to double check and give another nudge. Bathroom door in the front of the apartment has a lock but doesn’t work (tried various diff ways). In room Dining is only thru a QR code- which is on a piece of paper that is easily lost (print it and put it on the fridge) I was kindly sent this in an email that was a forwarded email from a previous client where I could see their email address..(privacy?) We stayed in one of the towers that was not linked to the basement so we had change lifts all the time. Would have thought that they would at least offer a room in the other tower knowing we had a car park included in our package. The Good The bed.. it is fantastic. Gym- decent variety Check in was early at 12..Thankyou🙏🏼 In room dining food quality was fantastic. I believe it was from Ms Margot.. Mark the service mgr brought the packaged breakfast himself one day.. it was meant to be delivered a day earlier but never was… so Mark was kind enough to bring some himself.. he had a fantastic attitude. Other positive was that the room had plenty of amenities.. washing/drying of clothes, fridge, microwave, open space etc. closet space.. beautiful views. Overall, we felt like we could have gotten more value for that price elsewhere at Gold Coast. The Hilton experience was okay but perhaps we had higher expectations. The staff is very service oriented.. they respond quick and take things seriously… it appears the items are falling apart and the processes need to be tightened up. Kudos where it’s due- Hilton messaged me mid trip asking how things were and I told them… they quickly sent someone to the room and fixed most of those issues I mentioned earlier… so they take feedback seriously which is definitely a positive.
