“Great hotel in a brilliant location”

Having read lots of reviews for the Alexandre Gala I was worried mainly on a noise level - I needn't have wasted the energy worrying, the hotel is brilliant, cleaned continually and staff are friendly and helpful. Things which mattered to us were - 1. Noise from Veronicas strip - we had room 626, which is on the top floor above the entrance facing the street, the room was bright and airy, it's in a bustling area, but once the patio door was closed the room was silent. 2. Room facilities - tea and coffee making facilities, an unlocked mini fridge with two glasses and two bottles of water upon arrival, TV with some English channels, good WI-FI reception. 3. Restaurant facilities - Tables cleared and cleaned and re-set quickly, never any problem obtaining a table, plates in hot food area were always warmed/hot, we never found an item of crockery or cutlery that was dirty for the entire holiday and we certainly didn't see any bugs in the entire hotel. Extra cutlery is available in a rack in the cold section. Food was hot, varied, well presented and delicious, (I am a very picky eater and always found plenty of items I liked). The chefs (especially the one wearing a multi coloured shirt) were more than willing to discuss the food on offer, and make suggestions for accompaniments. My absolute hate is luke-warm food, so I was glad to find microwave ovens available, but I didn't need to use them as the food was always hot. Other reviewers have complained about the wait for drinks, we never found it to be an issue, possibly because we chose a table and sat down before collecting our meals, a waiter would take the drink order within a couple of minutes of us arriving, another member of staff delivered the drinks quickly. 4. Pool / hotel renovations - we had been warned that one of the pools was closed, and given the option to cancel or change hotels at the last minute. We are so glad we chose to continue with the holiday. Sound was minimal from the pool work, and luckily it was completed two days before we returned home, so we had time enjoying the deeper unheated pool for a couple of days which was a bonus.. 5. Sunbeds - there were always plenty available at any time of day, with lots of different areas to sit n, some overlooking one or other of the pools, some overlooking the hot tub / sea, plenty of umbrellas and shaded areas. There was lots of space to spread out or change position, the hotel is well placed, there is sun in all areas throughout the day. 6. Room card for drinks - having read other reviews I imagined a nightmare ordering process, so was pleased to find it was very simple. Take room card with you when you leave the room, present room card when you wish to order drinks (or food from pool bar), place order. We were AI, but could see that folks who were not AI were given a receipt for each order they made, as we were when we ate in the restaurant (itemised and billed as 0.00) so it should be simple to keep track of spending. Not massively important to us, but a bonus for this holiday 1. Entertainment and activities - there were various things to do during the day (which we didn't take part in) and a variety of evening entertainment. Evening entertainment was a good standard, singers, acrobats, dancers, definitely worth staying in (or returning early from a walk) for. 2. Bar service - queues were cleared quickly, and there were plenty of times when we could walk straight up and order drinks (or food from the pool bars). The staff were friendly and seemed to be happy. 3. Location - 5 minute walk to Veronicas strip or the seafront. 4. Onsite shop & and different daily concession stores - There's a small shop in the hotel, prices were comparable with local shops for things like sandals, but a bit pricey for bottles of water. There is a shop over the road which is much cheaper. There was a different stall set up in the lobby area most days and evenings, selling things like jewellery, cases, bags, purses, beachwear and gifts. Many days there was poolside show demonstrating various items of ladies holiday clothing which were for sale.

“Do NOT listen to bad reviews”

Stayed in this Hotel for ten nights Jan '24. Absolutely fabulous hotel. Spotlessly clean, food was delicious, staff were amazing. Couldn't fault any aspect of our stay. Only minutes from the beach. Stayed in this Hotel for ten nights Jan '24. Absolutely fabulous hotel. Spotlessly clean, food was delicious, staff were amazing. Couldn't fault any aspect of our stay. Only minutes from the beach. Trying to book again for September/October but just a little out of our price range for 5 adults but like we always say, you pay for what you get. Dont let bad or negative reviews influence your decision not to stay here. I have seen this hotel in person and trust me. Its fabulous 👌

Thank you very much hotel gala for a wonderfully holiday, we were in room 552 overlooking the bars, yes it was noisy but your in the heart of the late night entertainment, bit of noise when you close the balcony door but we still got a sleep, entertainment inthe hotel looked good but we didn't stay in to watch it, pool area was excellent yes people reserved loungers but we were going down at 11am and 12 and still found a good spot, food serving areas were all over the place, a bit strange, took us 4 days to find soup 🤔 but the choices were good and you always found something you liked, overall, great hotel, great location, rooms are perfect, pools great, food a bit hit and miss, staff were brilliant, we never had a problem on our holiday because we didn't look for one as some do, but cheers to the HOTEL GALA TEAM we were very impressed with you all. P.S. don't go by what you read in the reviews as some people think they should be treated like kings and Queens when they spend £2000 Thanks again hotel gala we will be back 👌

Eat out. Grab a sun lounger at the crack of dawn, or you'll be disappointed. Towels are left on the beds and are never removed by staff if people are not using them. Eat out. Grab a sun lounger at the crack of dawn, or you'll be disappointed. Towels are left on the beds and are never removed by staff if people are not using them. Drinks are only included with breakfast, you'll have to purchase drinks in the evening. All purchases at the hotel are charged to your room key, as no cash can be taken...keep an eye on how much you spend as it is easy to run up a big bill if you are not careful.
