This Hotel was very lovely…but note to Solo Travellers…there are a lot of kids so the experience Might not be what you’re looking for. Arrival and Departure Flawless. The staff at the counters, as well as the Bell Hops and everyone else are knowledgeable and friendly. As a solo traveller, these kind touches are important since we are alone and count on support from the resort. Meals Everything I tried was wonderful! Nicely presented with pleasant servers and helpful cooks and staff. I wondered in without my flip flops once…I had been bitten by something and couldn’t wear a shoe. The servers asked me to leave as it wasn’t allowed…no shoe , no shirt, no service. But that’s a good thing….i snuck back in a few times to get some food for my room though. Entertainment I only went out at night once…think it was the Neon Party…but again, too many kids…so I turned around and went back to my room. Pools and Beach Awesome but unfortunately the pools were taken over by kids and it tainted my experience…looking for rest and relaxation primarily. This of no fault of the resort of course but I will in future be more cognizant of booking a hotel that caters more to adults.

Great relaxing week at Riu Jalisco. This was our 1st time at an all-inclusive resort so we didn’t know what to expect. The resort staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The food was good (not great), there weren’t many activities going on during the day and if there were it was hard to find them. The foam party in the pool was the best. The evening shows were good but there is not enough seating. The pool bars and the bars by the evening shows had the best bartenders and drinks. The beach was great but many vendors walking around. They were polite and not pushy. The room was cleaned every day and minibar was replenished. The resort was extremely clean as the staff was quick to clear tables, pick up empty drink cups and always seemed to be cleaning the common areas. The resort is not close to any shopping areas so we took an Uber to the Malecon one morning and had no issues. It was nice to walk around, souvenir shop, and see some of the culture.

“A great trip at a great Resort....”

Just got back from another good time at RIU Jalisco. From Calgary, it's about a 5hr flight, and 20 minutes to hotel from airport. Just got back from another good time at RIU Jalisco. From Calgary, it's about a 5hr flight, and 20 minutes to hotel from airport. The Resort is well maintained, a little dated, but with great service from the staff. Lots of selection for food. The drinks are good by the pools, and lobby. The weather was great for the 2nd week in April,...I was there for the Eclipse. Met some nice people all over, from Winnipeg, Cold Lake, Montreal, Calgary, and Nebraska USA. I've been to this Resort , or the RIU Vallarta 5 times. Will go back after the new Renovations next year. A fun place to visit for fun, sun, and sand.

Hotel Riu Jalisco Nuevo Nayarit Getting around and currency 946344356 This is a family all inclusive resort and there were many many activities and events available for everyone. We enjoyed the week. We did find it a bit isolated in terms of getting into the old town of PVR. It was recommended that the app InDrive is what’s the local residents use as it’s less money than Uber . The difference between the two apps is Uber is preset up using your credit card. Money doesn’t need to change hands and you know what the ride costs. InDrive is in MXC pesos and cash is paid to the driver. You can place a bid on what you think is fair for the ride before hand. Once you and the driver agree to the price it’s confirmed. You pay when you arrive at destination. I liked that InDrive used location services to locate you for pick up - great when you are a tourist - Uber didn’t seem to have that I had to find the street name and number. If you decide to take public transport from just outside the RIU Jalisco entrance be aware the bus line is ATM and sporadic- it didn’t run the Sunday we were there. When you get out of the complex you will need to change buses at Walmart - here’s a great link to help visit vallarta for bus schedules We took the local bus from Bucerias to Walmart and then InDrive to the resort. Fun experience but, the cost from Walmart was the same price as taking the InDrive right from Bucerias to the RIU. Lastly, please use pesos only to tip staff - they need to shop around to get the best rate on any other currency. Oh and we found we got a better rate for buying pesos in our home country than at hotel or atm machines
