Myself and my family have just returned home from a weeks stay here, from the start of our holiday to the end we had a great time, always made to feel welcome, we had beautiful rooms with wonderful views, rooms were cleaned every day, entertainment was outstanding, the staff really went out of their way to check on us regularly and initiate conversations, we always enjoyed the night time entertainment and the shows that were on! Restaurant was fine, always something to choose from, masses of fresh fruit, vegetables, always a fish and meat choice, pizzas were a regular winner with my husband and children! All in all we had a brilliant time, would absolutely go back ☺️

“Great for families.”

Travelled as a group of 12 3 families children ages 15,14,10,10,8 and 4 Paid £3075 for 1 week all inclusive (2 adults 2 children) with Jet2 and private transfer. Check in (arrived 10am) 3 staff manning the desk, we arrived as a couple of others were checking in, didn’t have to wait long at all, we were given a lunch pass and our all inclusive bands and cards and a luggage room key so that we could dump our stuff and enjoy the sunshine and pools. Returned after 2 to get our room key, no queue. Room. We booked a deluxe quadruple room. The room we got had 4 single beds (perfect) , one was in a little divided part of the room with its own balcony (happy teenager)! Lots of reviews saying the rooms are small- they are as the look on the photos. We live from cases anyway when we go away so had no issues with space plus a double balcony for storing all the inflateables. Very clean, the cleaners work hard at this hotel, you can see them early in the morning scrubbing the sunbeds and pool areas then through the day around the hotel keeping everything clean. There is an incentive to re use your towels - happy to do this as we don’t change them daily at home. You get water points each day left on the bed for the towels you re use, we saved them up and the kids got ice creams and slushies with them towards the end of the week. Rooms are cool and comfortable enough with the air con on. Beds are ok , we didn’t have an issue with sleep other than the hubbys snoring! Kettle in room which you can get milk from the bar and more tea bags etc from the bar or breakfast. Mini fridge in room is handy for keeping water cold.( stocked with water on arrival). €25 for the safe - this is pretty standard I’ve found when staying in Spain. Entertainment Big shout out to Eddy and Portuguese Jaime who got us up and involved and all the kids everyday ( we certainly missed them on thier days off). We came away with several certificates and cocktails - may have been a tad competitive ! Aqua gym with Jaime is energetic and fun, we would recommend giving it ago! My neices loved the karaoke (actually the dads joined in too). Through the day there are activities for the young ones in the kids club and around/in the pool. We went to the foam party , the boys enjoyed the water polo, archery,darts, shuffleboard, watermat. One of the teens went off to the beach with the kids club for a game of football. Lots going on for all ages. Our kids don’t normally join in with things but the team are so friendly and make it all so fun that they enjoyed it. Food. I don’t even want to get on the scales when o get home! We didn’t stop eating! Some of the kids are fussy eaters yet still managed to have 3 meals a day and several courses. There seemed to be different themes each night. Fresh fish and meat cooked infront of you along with other dishes to help yourself from. We enjoyed kebabs, lasagne, stews, roasted veggies and potatoes, hotdogs (highlight of the afternoon snack menu) pizza, pasta, paella, salads, loads of fresh fruit, meatballs, chips, fishfinger, nuggets, beans. The waiting staff always managed to seat the 12 of us on one table or next to eachother on times we arrived together. The breakfast buffet was nice, no it’s not English sausages , hash browns and hogs pudding (we aren’t in England now) but there is a huge selection of meats, cheese, eggs, beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, bacon, breads, pastries and some Cereals yoghurt and fruits. We never had an issue queuing more than a couple of minutes while people in front of us were seated and we arrived at various times for our meals. We did eat late one evening and the kids weren’t happy all the cake had gone but they certainly made up for cake on other nights so having to have jelly and ice cream for one night was no big deal! Drinks Card system - hand your card in get a drink, return the cup for a card or another drink - Great idea, no mess around the pools, less waste. I think it works well. Never had an issue with one family meme we going up with 5/6cards and getting the round of drinks in at all. The all inc cocktails are ok, I stuck to the love on the beach (won myself a pinacolda one day) they aren’t all fancy just from a machine but taste ok. Kids had plenty of coke and Fanta lemon and milkshakes. Sangria with sprite takes the edge off! Pool areas We never had an issue getting a sun bed even on the day of arrival we just got them later on in the day. We got our beds at 9am when the pool opened, we like to sit on the large pool side as it got the sun in the afternoons and we took it in turns to supervise the kids in the splash pool in the mornings. Be careful the filter covers round the splash pool move when stood on, my 10 year old stood on one within 5 min of arrival as he walked into the pool and ended up with a massive cut and nasty bruise on his leg, could have been worse if he’d have ran over it he’d probably have broken his leg. Another family said a child had done the same thing the day before. This is an area that does need attention before someone does seriously hurt themselves. Thankfully some ice and a cuddle and my son was back of playing and careful where he stood going in and out of the pool after that. There are a few cracked and loose tiles around the pool area that could do with some tlc. Pool towels are free no deposit needed and just €1 if you want to change them for clean ones. The pool is freezing , but once you are in it’s fine and a great way to cool off if you’ve been laying in the sun. Check out We ordered a picnic take out as we were checking out at 7am , this was ready for us when we handed our key over.(cheese and ham sandwiches, apple, mixed nuts, cereal bar orange juice and bottle of water ). Overall Yes there are some areas that need a little tlc but the hotel is very clean, the staff work very hard and are very friendly. The area it’s self there isn’t much to do. We did walk to Calella which took about 45mins along the front. The beach isn’t the lovely soft sand we have in Cornwall but that doesn’t bother us. We just found the sea water extra salty . We went to water world parc one day, bus picks you up from train station (4min walk from hotel ) . I’d advise not booking through the jet2 rep as you then have to queue to get in when you get there to get the QR code to let you through the machine. Just book direct online as it’s the same price and you can go straight in just be sure to get the ticket that includes the €5 return coach transfer. Would I recommend this hotel? Yes, you get what you pay for, the price of holidays has gone up massively so don’t compare it to a holiday you paid the same price for a few years ago. Would I stay again? No, no fault of the hotel, there’s just not enough in the area for us to come back again and one week was enough, I think the kids would have got restless any longer. They had a great time and were busy 9-10 everyday .

This was our second stay at the Pineda Splash, we first came in July 2022. The dates above are critical, the first time we came the hotel was fantastic, our most recent visit was during peak times, the hotel was at capacity. Unfortunately it loses a bit of charm when busy, meal times were stressful, the queue for the bar on an evening, or even finding a table was frustrating. Sun beds were never a problem though. Room We booked a tripple room (with travel cot) through Jet2 for our family of 4… this should not be allowed, there was literally no room to move, unpack or anything. We upgraded at an extra cost after night 1 (I had been emailing the hotel before our arrival, hence the availability) I blame Jet2 for even allowing this, don’t dare think you can manage… it will ruin your break. Our new room was fantastic, two double beds and a single… plenty of space for the travel cot. Food/Drink On this visit, the hotel implemented a one drink policy, controlled by cards. No drink without presenting a card or empty glass… not good if you have a young family and want to take a couple of drinks upto sit on the balcony. All inclusive drinks only runs 11am to 11pm, frustrating when you want things out of these times. Food in the restaurant was Ok, just about enough variation to keep us going back. There’s lots of restaurants close by if you fancy a change, also pizza/kebab takeaway type cafes on the front/in town. Location/Pineda Last time we came, the world was just reviving from Covid… Pineda was a fantastically clean resort, not so anymore. The whole place just felt abit grubby. Hotel is situated well, just a 5 minute walk to the beach, or the resort centre if you go the other way. Beach is nice, but the sea is often rough and less suitable for younger bathers, some nice little beach bars scattered along the promenade for the walkers. The little holiday train stops directly outside the hotel, this takes you all around the resort and down the coast to other areas… a bargain at €5 even if you just ride it around and take in the sights. Kids Kids club is for 4 years+, but you can stay and play with younger children, I took our 18month old in to play on a few occasions (not much else for younger kids). The outside play area was very basic, and always full. We won’t be rushing back to Pineda Splash, if we did, the hardworking friendly staff would be there to look after us.
