“Can’t wait to try it.”

I never been in the hotel, but I am very curious to try it. For what I saw looks a great experience, so have a good friend working there, and can’t wait to make a visit.

Just got home from a weeks holiday and want to share my thoughts. There are alot of mixed opinions and this is an honest review of my experience. So I travelled with my wife and two children aged 10 and 13. We had an early flight and arrived at the hotel at 11:30 in the morning. The advertised check in time was 15:00 but the lovely receptionist told us to check back at 13:00 as the room may be ready early. We were given our wrist bands and instructions to put our luggage in a secure cupboard so we could explore the hotel. Initial impressions were the hotel was busy and it felt a bit overwhelming. In all fairness this was probably due to us being a bit tired as we were up early for the drive to the airport. Fortunately our room was ready at 13:00 which was a bonus!! We had a deluxe quadruple room which was on the smaller side but more than adequate. We had enough space and the bathroom/shower was excellent. Air conditioning was nice and cold and shampoo/conditioner and soap were all provided. The room was cleaned to a high standard everyday including new towels. We had an issue with our key card not working. I think this probably because it was left next to a mobile phone. The cleaners helped us and reception reprogrammed the key. My wife and daughter didn't think the hairdryer was very good but it did the job. On our first day we queued for a sunbed around the deeper pool but there was no real need as there were still some sun beds available after the pools opened at 10. There is an area above on the roof above the bar which has a pool and loads of sunbeds. This area wasn't taped off and you didn't need to queue. We got sunbeds every day without issue. The pool facilities are excellent with good lifeguards who actually pay attention to what's happening and manage the use of the slides to prevent accidents from too many people going down at the same time. The slides are a great touch and it's nice there are multiple pools. The food is probably what scores this down a bit. I never saw or witnessed anyone have food poisoning or illness and the chefs wore gloves and washed hands when handling raw meat. The choice was fairly varied and was your typical all inclusive with pizza, chips and pasta on offer everyday. I think even fussy eaters would be happy here. The deserts were very limited and the hot food wasn't really hot. Everything I had was cooked but it was just lukewarm even after the restaurant had just opened. We always use hand sanitiser after getting back to the table before eating. I would recommend this as I saw, on at least 3 occasions, men/children coming out of toilets without washing their hands (even after a number 2) This is not the fault of the hotel but it was absolutely disgusting. The bars are a hot topic on here and people were talking about it in the hotel. I personally think the card system is a good idea but do agree at busier times it took a long time to get a drink. The bar staff were really friendly and did their best to serve quickly. The location is OK. The hotel is in the middle of a residential area but close to the beach (5 minute walk-- bring beach shoes as the sand is gritty and thick and can hurt your feet) it is very picturesque and makes for some nice photos. There is a shop just around the corner that sells everything you need for a reasonable price-snacks/souvineirs etc. A land train parks just outside the hotel and for 5 euros each you get a nice trip around the town. The train station is also close by and goes into Barcelona. The main high street isnt too far and there is a good selection of shops/places to eat etc. We ate at the Bucaneer pub a couple of times. The food was nice and reasonably priced. The staff were also excellent and welcoming. All of the staff at the hotel were friendly and evening entertainment was Ok. Younger kids loved it-there was a mini disco every night, themed characters such as mickey/Minnie mouse etc. The other entertainment was bingo, karaoke and a quiz. On some nights they had acts come in-we saw a DJ one night and singers on another. Both were good. If older kids get bored they have pool tables, arcade games etc. If you are realistic and don't expect the world, I think you will have an enjoyable holiday. Warmer food and some maintenance in places would give it a boost. Overall we had a good holiday. Thank you to all staff.

Booked this knowing about the poor food reviews but we got a good price so we could eat out . We have done Fergus hotels before and this was very dissapointing , nowhere near Fergus standard. Rooms were fine , clean and we found the beds comfortable , rooms cleaned 6 out of the 7 nights we were there . Food is always cold and it’s the worst snack selection I have ever seen . One lady did not like clearing the tables to allow you to sit down and was quite rude ! The first few days were fine but then it was queue central ! Queuing for sun beds , queuing to get in the restaurant , queuing at the bar upto 20 minutes to get a drink ( day and night ) . Teen zone fine but it’s just games consoles and few board games, nothing like the hyped up “ amazing teen zone reviews “ The hotel isn’t situated in a nice area either , my husband had a random guy walk up to him in reception wanting money , the hotel receptionist asked him to leave but he persistently moved on to another family . The hotel are not addressing the situation of randoms hanging around outside the hotel , I didn’t feel it’s a safe area at night and would not return to the Hotel or Pineda de mar.
