What do some of the people writing reviews expect? It is cheaper than a lot of hotels in the area, that is why you chose it, so do not expect 5 star treatment. The hotel is spotless and is cleaned all day long. The rooms are a little small (I was a solo traveller in a double) but it was all that I needed. The room would have been fine had my partner been with me. Desk with chair, TV, hair dryer for those who need it, shower, toilet, big double bed. It was very clean. The narrow hallway complaints? why do you need a wide one? There was plenty of room to walk along it with a suitcase. Again, hallways are spotless. Location...brilliant, right in the heart of the city. A very short stroll (5 mins at most) to train and bus station. Great location if you want to use the transport to explore other areas as I did. Staff were very friendly and very helpful. Always saying hello and helped me when I asked for advice. Cleaners were the same, very polite and smiling. Lovely people. Breakdfast can be a bit cramped. I was up and out so I went for earlier slot at 7am. It got busy later on. Food on offer was really good, plenty of choice, some gluton free options. If you are a Strawberry Hotels member then tea and coffee is free all day long. If not a member, go to reception and they will show you how to sign up. it cot nothing! There was some noise outside. I like to sleep with a window slightly open. You get a few people strolling home after a night out a bit merry. Part of a building opposite the hotel is being worked ona nd the workers start early. So, you get that noise, but it never bothered me much, and it is nothing the hotel can do anything about. I stayed here for 4 nights. It was the perfect base. I was happily stay here agin in the future.

“Great location, great staff, great city”

I stayed here during a work conference, but with a couple of extra days. The rooms are compact, but big enough for me and my bicycle. The staff were really helpful with advice on places to explore by bike, and I went places I wouldn't otherwise have gone.

Pros: - kindly offered early check in - super comfortable bed - nice and hot shower - good selection for breakfast (which was included) - Easy proximity to the central station - well located in the centre of town, lots of food and shops nearby, or jump on the tram elsewhere - friendly and helpful reception staff Cons: - windows not soundproof, a fair amount of street noise - rooms looking a little unloved, beaten up paint jobs, scratches etc - under the mattress topper did not look like it had been vacuumed in a while - bathroom smelled like urine - mould in bathroom - very small room. I only stayed for a night so this didn’t bother me.
