“Great old hotel”
This hotel is across the courtyard from the Palace of the Popes. You can get to most places in the downtown core within a 15 minute walk. The hotel itself is hundreds of years old. Great rooms. The buffet breakfast is worth getting.

My wife and I had a very good time at the Hôtel du palais des papes. The receptionists were very helpful and welcoming, the room was exactly what we wanted (charmingly old-time but fully functional, with a great view of the palace). “In the middle of Avignon”
Very convenient location and offers discount at the parking underneath the square. Food at the restaurant was good as well. Not the most modern of the hotels, but clean. Pleasant and helpful service.
