Just returned from here after a relaxing 7 day break. The hotel was great, clean, staff were very friendly. Pool area spacious and well set out. Location is ideal a short walk to the beach and turn right for 'old' playa Blanca or left for the beautiful harbour The food was lovely with lots of different options depending upon your tastes. The staff in the restaurant work really hard replenishing the various areas and ensuring everything ran smoothly even at the busiest times. Big thanks to Assia and all the team for making this a great holiday

“MAJOR ISSUES!”

Two couples spent 7 nights from 28th April in double rooms. I'll start with the positives - chose this hotel due to excellent location and access to amenities and beach. Absolutely immaculately clean in all public areas and rooms. Cleaners and maintenance staff must be commended for doing an excellent job. Now unfortunately the cons - which there are a few. The restaurant, which is not very welcoming and is more like a school canteen, is total and absolute chaos . Poor quality food, very mismatched, struggled to put together a decent meal. Very uninspiring,very unimaginative and quite frankly very unappetising. We did speak to Diego from customer relations on our second day to address our issues and asked to speak with the general manager. Two days later there was no improvements in the restaurant service, food not being replenished quickly enough, no tables set, tables piled with dirty dishes, no plates, cups. When the staff did bring out plates it was maybe only 30 at a time and were still dripping with water from dishwater. Then spoke with Isabel from customer relations to say we still hadn't heard anything from the general manager, and also to say the situation in the restaurant was no better, if anything getting worse as hotel now appeared to be at capacity. Two days before we were due to go home we were offered an appointment to speak with general manager, too little too late !! We did try to offer some suggestions for improvement. We all stayed at Timanfaya Palace in October 2023 and the food choices and quality were far superior and the restaurant ran like clockwork . Perhaps a visit from H10 executives is required to address the problems within the restaurant urgently and sort out the disorder and confusion within the restaurant. It was evident there was a severe staff shortage, and the waiting staff that were there all appeared new and untrained. We understand that the hotel in undergoing a refurb , but in this day and age USB ports are a necessity Too many cons to return to this hotel

"From the Hotel Inspector" I dont usually do these sort of things - write reviews - but felt compelled to do so. Pros - An excellent Hotel in a prominent position with a short walk to several lovely beaches and restaurants. Our room was excellent (Double with pool view), clean and well maintained - no problems there - just a bit unfortunate that we had the sun on our balcony in the morning - because it did not warm up until about 10am - again not the Hotels fault. We found the staff pleasant and helpful, but too few of them - especially at Breakfast and dinner where they just could not cope - dreadfully undermanned for a 4 * hotel Plenty of sunbeds. Our week was generally quite windy - so it was good to be able to find a sheltered area around by the indoor swimming pool - another plus - especially with young children. The entertainment was generally very good, we were only there for a week - but every night there was a choice of entertainment in the Piano Bar or in another area. In some ways it was a shame they were competing for the same audiences. We never tried the speciality restaurants as the food does not suit (food intolerances). A bonus was a free changing room at the end of our holiday as we had to vacate our room by noon, but did not travel until about 6pm. Cons:- Now to the only thing that really coloured my judgement on this hotel - the food On first inspection, there was a good variety of food to suit young and old. My wife suffers horribly from Irritable Bowel Syndrome which means that even the inclusion of pepper or tomato or onion in a meal will necessitate spending the following day near a Loo. Regardless, she was able to find sufficient choice. The presentation of the food was also good, BUT If you go down to the restaurant about 9am in the morning for Breakfast or 8pm in the evening for evening meal, you will struggle to find a table - and when you do find a table, you will struggle to find any plates for your food. There are just not enough staff, who are expected to do everything. The most disappointing thing though was the quality of the food, it all looks good - especially the salads and the desserts, but the soup is luke warm. Most of the meat dishes are either under cooked or overcooked. The Roast beef had been cremated, the veal was inedible, the marinated duck was so tough as to be inedible - even the roast chicken was dry - as though it had been overdone in a air fryer. The hot station where you choose your meat and it is cooked for you is probably the only place that you will get hot food - even so be careful that it is cooked - my Pork was still pink inside (not just a little). Some of the food is kept hot on hot plates - but they are not always on. I complained (something I rarely do) , that the food station that had noodles and tempura vegetables had been on the hot plate for nearly an hour - yet the hot plate was stone cold - and therefore so was the vegetables alongside the crispy spring rolls, now soggy and cold. If you want a pot of tea in the morning, you go to the coffee machine to get your hot water and tea bags, and then traipse across the canteen (its not a restaurant) to the breakfast area to get some cold milk. No logic in that. We had a lovely holiday, spoilt only by the food, which reluctantly means we will never go back. I did suggest that the Hotel Manager took his wife and his boss to dinner, arriving at 8.15, unannounced, and ask his guests what they really think of the quality of the food and the service. I think he will be unpleasantly surprised and lucky to keep his job.
