“Friendly staff and excellent food”

Stopped here for a meal. Staff were friendly and helpful. Treated us like locals. Food was excellent and very good value for money. Several vegetarian/vegan options. Portion sizes were good. Everything tasted home made. Chips just like chip shop chips. Would definitely recommend.

Stopped here for lunch. It was our first time eating out since the start of the lockdown so quite nervous. The Boringdon Arms have done everything necessary to make us feel safe including taking our contact details which we liked. Lunch was a standard ham and cheese baguette and a pint but delicious. Staff could not be more friendly and helpful. I have to say that I was shocked to read a previous report that it is dirty and run down. This is a village pub... not a top hotel in town but even so it is a great example of British pub hospitality at its best. We will return!

A small group of six from our dive club stayed here over the last weekend in August. The pub does not have any direct parking but a free car park is barely 100m away. The pub offers both en suite rooms (at a slight premium) and rooms with separate bathrooms. Our group were happy with our respective rooms, which were clean and tidy with television, tea making facilities and free wifi. The pub is dog friendly and from a previous visit, I know has a lovely roaring log fire in the winter. Breakfast was served from 07.00, consisting of juices, cereals and hot options (including vegetarian) made to order. The pub itself has a lot of character with various nooks, crannies and beer garden to explore. The pub serves a reasonable variety of local ales and meals are available, which we found to be wholesome and delicious, but the pub can get busy, particularly at weekends. The pub is just a couple of minutes drive or 10-15 minutes walk to the nearby water sports centre at Mount Batten, and the ferry, which transports pedestrians across to the quayside in Plymouth in under 10 minutes where a large number of bars and restaurants offer a variety of dining options. Alternatively, a 15-20 minute drive will take you to the quayside. In summary, a very reasonable pub BnB with nice rooms, good food and friendly staff.
