I might regret writing this review as it could encourage bookings such that we will have difficulty getting a reservation next time we want to stay but this place deserves all the praise I can heap. We booked a double en suite room for two nights. On arrival we were amazed to find this double room was actually an apartment which was ours exclusively. We could have had the twin room or the double and chose to stick with the double. There is a lovely comfy lounge area and a small kitchen which allows you to cater for yourselves. There is a bathroom with a jacuzzi bath and a wet room with shower. The whole place is exceptionally clean and well decorated. Breakfast was served to us at the dining table right outside our room and was amazing and cooked to order. The table was set with fresh fruit salad, summer fruits and cream along with toast, marmalade, yoghurt etc. Our host assured us that he only ever books it out exclusively so there is no chance of sharing the facilities. It wasn't that we chanced on an occasion when the other room wasn't booked he doesn't book more than one booking. Stephen, our host was great and the area is beautiful, situated in a picturesque village with its quintessential English pub a couple of minutes walk away serving good food. When is a B&B not a B&B? When it is this amazing place which is so much more. Oh and I nearly forgot to mention the views from the bedroom. Beautiful Yorkshire countryside with fields right outside and the rolling hills in the distance. Perfection.

My husband and I stayed here with our 3 month old son. Our stay was excellent from start to finish. I communicated with Steve in advance and he was extremely helpful. We found the location with no problem and the accommodation is a first floor apartment containing a large double room, a twin room, lounge, kitchenette and bathroom with a spa bath. There is an additional downstairs shower room. We found the apartment to be extremely well equipped and immaculate. Supplies such as tea, coffee, milk, sugar and biscuits had been provided. There are takeaways and a pub in close proximity however we did not use these on this occasion. The location is extremely peaceful which was wonderful. Everything worked well and we had a restful night. In the morning Steve set up the dining table with a wide range of cereals, fresh fruit salad, yogurts, toasts etc. We then had full cooked breakfast (there was an option for continental). The breakfasts were excellent. This is an absolute gem of a place, a real home from home, and was absolutely perfect for us with our baby. We will most definitely be returning!

This is an accommodation type which the family should reconsider when traveling together through the North Yorkshire area. The ground is small but has parking dedicated to guest in front of the door. Even two cars can manage to park there. The apartment (only one in property) is located upstairs on the first floor. Guests have their own entrance. Bedrooms are extremely clean and comfort. All details are to form very warm and welcome atmosphere of the house. Small kitchen in a corridor is sufficient for preparation of breakfast. We had no opportunity to test the breakfast prepared by the owners. I would confirm most of the previous reviews. It is very professional style of accommodation quite comparable to 5* hotels (but more friendly atmosphere).

“Fantastic !”

Great place. Would definitely recommend. Very spacious, ideal for families. Perfectly clean and well decorated. Breakfast was sumptuous. In a beautiful village about 45 min drive from York. Nice pub walking distance. We felt very welcome by Steven.
