Glenshian has really excellent and generous facilities. The owners are a delightful couple who are just so kind, thoughtful and very very good at doing B&B Wish that I could have stayed longer and had another scrummy, beautifully presented, breakfast.

I managed to spent a sunday evening staying at this wonderful B&B before undertaking the task of Kayaking the Great Glen Trail from the Fort to Inverness. Glenys met me at the door and showed me to the garage where i could park my 14ft kayak safety. Then the kettle was on and in moments i was in a very relaxed and calm atmosphere with stunning views onto Ben Nevis. My room was spotless and on suite. The bed was cumfy and i had a great nights rest. In the morning Iain appeared with a superb breafast which i had ordered the night before.If your passing this way please book here. Alongside the banks of the Caledonian Canal, with beautiful views through the panoramic windows of the guests’ lounge and conservatory, this homely B&B has large rooms with even larger beds. The bathroom is all bright has newly fitted. A wide variety of breakfast is on offer including fresh fruit, yoghurt, variety of cooked breakfast, and home-made jams and preserves to go with your toast. For those travelling by train it is a 10 or 15 minute walk from the station but the proprietors offer a lift to meet trains. Unusually there is no television in the room but there is one available in the guest lounge. Fresh milk is provided for making teas and coffee is instead of those horrible little plastic cartons. Would that other establishments use the same practice using small vacuum flasks. Bright modern rooms. There are couple of good local eating places nearby: the moorings has a rather more up market establishment alongside the canal, whereas the Locky is more "local" pub just below the road and rail bridges and almost alongside the canal that both offer a single real ale and has a good choice of very reasonably priced and tasty meals.
