After I had a meal here nearly two years ago I dreamt of coming back and staying. I am so pleased I did. On our visit this time the three of us found the locally sourced food well cooked and presented. The three starters we shared included a superb local ham. We then chose a grilled lamb, turkey and a marvellous soup and bread dish and finished with desserts including a symphony of turron and fruit, honey and nuts. There was a good wine list to choose from, including house wines. Two if us finished with a small glass of home made spirit based on an ancient recipe using the local herbs. It was both warming and good for the digestion. Our upstairs en suite bedrooms were charming. Clean and well furnished with stunning views of the hills, plains and sea. In the bathrooms we found fresh local herbs and lavender. The beds were firm and comfortable and there was a cd player. The breakfast was appetising, great coffee, preserves, bread, fresh fruit and a light fluffy honey cake. Before we left our host showed us the inside of the two hundred ice house behind the hotel which had been restored as a celebration of the way in which past generations had made a living from collecting, storing and selling ice. We took a walk before our meals each day in sunny, windy late january weather. It is a brilliant, exhilirating place to be.

we travelled up into the mountains for lunch here with friends. The views are stunning, the area tranquil. We enjoyed a walk before the meal over herbs and rocks, wonderful. We received a warm welcome and was shown to a table in one kfthe dining rooms that had an amazing view of the mountains. Our lunch was enjoyable and leisurely, well coked to local recipes using fresh local produce. The wines were excellent. An unforgettable experience.

We ate in the restaurant, didn't stay in the hotel. The views are absolutely stunning. It is quite high up and you see for many miles, the air was so fresh. We went with friends who live near Alicante. The food was very good, varied tapas to start. I had a venison in red wine as a main. The venison had been slow cooked and was tender and tasted great. The wine list had some good bottles and we had some local wines.

The food is mixed. We started with aspencat - aubergine, red and green pepper, in olive oil, with salt cod. Looks awful, but doesn't taste to bad. Next comes pericana - dried peppers in olive oil with garlic and cod. OK on bread, but an odd texture. Then we had the turkey cutlets, char grilled, served with tomatoes and red peppers. Nicely cooked, simple and tasty, but the accompaniment of half a cold tomato and a piece of cold red pepper was uninspiring. We ended with Almond flan, which was a creme caramel with almonds. Nice. I had Mediterranean fruits assortment, which turned out to be sliced apples, pear and plum. Not what I would call Mediterranean, but OK. Total was 55 Euros, not bad value. The views are amazing and the location is well worth the trip alone.
