What a magnificent job refurbishing this place!! The awesome hip vibe exudes in each room, in the lobby and the amazingly welcoming bar/gathering space. Quiet, relaxing, and super cool all at the same time!! We have already our next visit in December!! Love this place!!

Otis is a charming, aesthetically pleasing boutique hotel. We recently spent a long weekend there, and its location was easily accessible to downtown Harbor Springs, as well as the beach and tunnel of trees. The fireplace lounge is delightfully decorated and comfortable, and is far removed from the typical dated and “frouffy” up north style. Their menu raises the bar for fresh, inventive and delicious food in the area, and they have a great wine list (and fridge in the general store.) The food we ate there far surpassed any of the “highly rated” restaurants in the area. The corn salad… so good. Staff were personable and professional. We would definitely return and I can see it being a lovely sanctuary in colder months.

“Feng Shui”

Surprisingly fun and vibrant bar area. They've achieved excellent feng shui. Glad we stopped to check it out. My compliments to the non-alcoholic options. Rooms were all booked so we couldn't stay. Very Frank Lloyd Wright feel when looking from the road. We'll be back.

As someone who studied and now works in the field of architectural conservation, I was very excited about this project from the first time I read about it in Conde Nast. Suffice it to say that it blew my expectations out of the water on all counts. The quality of the restoration is outstanding. All finishes and materials are absolutely top quality. No corners have been cut, no design detail has been sacrificed. It is an aesthetic wonderland. This also makes for exceptional comfort: frette linens and flamingo estates toiletries set the tone. There are also beautiful outdoor and indoor spaces to read and relax that I suggest taking full advantage of. One of my favorite details is the complimentary La Colombe drip coffee every morning--one morning they even offered croissants! It's also worth noting that the location is dream-worthy. Surrounded by picturesque horse farms and the namesake forest of the tunnel of trees, the Otis is also a brief jaunt from stunning beaches and a quick drive to downtown Harbor Springs. The crowning element of the experience is the service. You can tell everyone working here shares in the vision and seems to be having a lot of fun. I suggest you get here while prices are still a STEAL for what you get. Once word is out, they can't stay low for long!
