“Comfortable stay”

The hotel location is central close to las rambla. The rooms were clean and towels were changed daily.Although you could hear the people in the room beside you and the room was very small. The breakfast was nice.

Situated across the road from the University - therefore it's a busy place, but great base for city break - only 5 minutes walk to The Rambles. We stayed in room 196 had balcony overlooking university. Room was basic, but relatively modern - some of the rooms we saw when cleaners were in looked in need of revamp. Towels were changed daily and rooms cleaned daily. Good wifi reception in hotel. The reception of the hotel was one of the smallest I've seen which caused a bit of chaos when people were checking in/out with their cases

Spain seems to do hotels well, particularly in terms of bang for your buck (or euro). Hotel Condes is located in the upscale Eixample neighborhood, a great location in terms of access to restaurants and shops but without the overly touristy hype of the area near la Rambla. The room I was first given faced the street. Unfortunately the double-glazed window didn't shut completely, so the street noise was noticeable (not great for sleeping). They did accommodate my concern by moving me to a quieter room, but this one faced the internal light well where the window opened to the back of the clear glass elevators (I'll get to the elevators in a moment). As a result, I needed to keep the curtains drawn lest I find myself watched by hotel guests going up and down (when the lifts worked, that is). The 8-story hotel is served by two, very slow elevators. To make matters worse, one of the two was out of service about half of the time (a week) I stayed there. The stairs are mainly inaccessible (I did figure out how to pry them open with my fingertips) so you're basically stuck with waiting for a while. The breakfast was ample, service friendly. The crown jewel is the rooftop terrace bar - big loungy areas with good cocktails, tasty snacks and views of the surrounding buildings, including Gaudi's la Sagrada Familia cathedral. This hotel would be good with a bit more attention to the room upkeep and more reliable lifts.

This hotel does the job,not bad but not great,decent enough breakfast clean and comfortable The hotel is very handy for Las Ramblas,The room was very small but was just used as a base to tour from.the breakfast room was very busyand it was not easy to get a seat. .

The reception staff were friendly although not too keen on lifting cases up the four steps you need to get to lift. Very small reception but I think there is going to be changes. Room was large with 3 single beds as requested. There was no view as I think we were at back but frosted window so could not really tell. Bathroom good size but no plug for basin or bath! I got one as soon as requested and was told it was usual not to leave plugs in room as some people forget to remove them. The walls are very thin and a lot of noise from other guests who were not English. Breakfast suited us as continental and had fruit juice, yoghurt, cold meets and cheese, fresh fruit, croissants, cakes and coffee/tea.
