We have stayed in this small hotel three times. Two of them with the purpose to enjoy the Schweriner Christmas Market. A wonderfull, cosy and happy festival in honour of the Christkindl. We have stayed in this small hotel three times. Two of them with the purpose to enjoy the Schweriner Christmas Market. A wonderfull, cosy and happy festival in honour of the Christkindl. The hotel is very good, friendly staff, clean rooms with good facilities and a very nice restaurant - or rather two different kinds. One serves delicious meals in international style and the other is a typical German restaurant, or should I say Bierstube with a short list of typical German courses, like eisbein mit sauerkraut, kasseler rostbraten or Bockwurst mit kartoffelpuree. The hotel is situated right in the middle of the city with a vue over a small marketplace and just 1 minutes walk to the big marketplace, the Dom and just another minute to the pedestrian streets. Schwerin is a nice and cosy city with a lot to offer tourists, You will find lakes, parks, churches, a genuine castle (seat of the local government) lots of shops and restaurants and above all - very friendly and happy "Schweriners". If they are so all the year round, or if it's the Glühwein from the Christmas market that has this effect is hard to say. We can just say - visit Schwerin and Alt Schweriner Schankstuben.

The Alt Schweriner Schankstuben is within walking distance of all the sights and also has a very pleasant bar and restaurant. However, the single room that I stayed in was not particularly comfortable as it was cramped. The mirror was hidden behind the wardrobe amd the TV set took up all the space… Más

The Alt Schweriner Schankstuben is within walking distance of all the sights and also has a very pleasant bar and restaurant. However, the single room that I stayed in was not particularly comfortable as it was cramped. The mirror was hidden behind the wardrobe amd the TV set took up all the space on the desk, The corridor was also very dark, the furniture is old, and there is also no lift. If you only need to stay for one night, it's okay. But if you want to stay longer, then I would recommend to find somewhere else.
