There is also central heating and air-conditioning and the comfortable sofa opens out to make a double bed for 2 guests. The building was completed in the year 2000, and is one of the best known buildings in Lisbon, with its distinctive shape representing a ship's bow. This is the heart of the Expo or Parque das Nações area, close to offices, shops, hotels, cafés, restaurants, transport and anything else you might need. The Vasco da Gama shopping centre is located at the foot of the tower, and consists of dozens of establishments including a very large supermarket, clothes and electronics shops, different kinds of restaurants, cafés and other commerce. Towards the river, there is a waterfront esplanade with more restaurants and the cable car which takes you to the excellent Oceanarium. This is a lovely area to enjoy a walk by the river and enjoy the war weather.
