From the roof terrace (with sun-loungers) and from some of the apartments there are overwhelming views of the sea and the neighboring island of Tenerife with the highest mountain in Spain, “Teide”. The studios surround the patio of the approx. 150-year old house which was originally owned by the famous Family Mendoza and later Family Ascanio. The famous Gomeran artist `Inocencio Rodriguez Guanche` whose paintings are to be found throughout the whole house, later inherited this treasure and was the last of the family to live there. The village of Agulo with its unusual location on the cliffs of the sea is known as ´The Pearl of Gomera`. It provides a perfect base-camp for hiking and excursions. Many of the most beautiful hiking routes begin either from Agulo or the neighboring village of Hermigua. The national Park Garajonay is a 30-minute drive away.
