Arodamos stands at the tableland “Livadi” of Kroussonas, a place with certain natural beauty with richly agricultural and stockbreeding tradition. The two imposing canyons that frame the region and the peaks that are standing around the tableland are composing a unique and raw mountainous terrain which is refuge for the wild life of Crete. The tableland is plumed with fruit-bearing trees like apple trees and pear trees and its fruits are famous for their quality and taste. At 32 km from Heraklion, the Arodamos Guesthouse is 37 km from Heraklion Airport and 41 km from Fodele. Parking on site is free. This rural resort is set on the Livadi Plateau, in the heart of the Psiloritis mountain range. Surrounded by a mountainous terrain with apple, pear and walnut trees, it features a swimming pool, and offers a variety of activities such household art and ceramics. Arodamos Guesthouse is one of only a handful of geoparks in Europe that are protected by the Natura 2000 program. Guests can explore the surrounding area with mountain bikes, get busy in the on-site farming activities, or attend classes of traditional Cretan cooking. The traditional hostel of Arodamos consists of 6 individual houses built on top of a hill, 1,100 meters high. The houses are made from stone and wood and have been supplied exclusively from renewable energy resources. In addition, there is a quaint restaurant with genuine home-cooking and a common room with library for playing table games, watching TV and just relaxing. All units are furnished with traditional furniture and have large fireplaces in the living room. They dispone of a fully equipped kitchenette, central heating, private bathroom and a living room with a sofa - bed. Here in the open air you can find yourself practicing in : archery, hiking, horse riding, cycling. Other activities may include : bird watching, ceramics. There is also a children's playground for our little guests. In the restaurant you can delight your palate with our genuine home cooking and in the morning enjoy breakfast in the room.
