Stayed at this lovely place just last week as we were staying in Torquay for 5 nights. For what the hotel is I can simply say it's brilliant. Nice style inside with central staircase, cosy, warm and the hosts/ landlady and lordlord very friendly and welcoming. They make you feel like your at home rather then staying in a hotel, genuinely lovely people. The breakfast is just WOW! With so much choice for all people. Fry up though was just amazing, cooked to order so you know it's not reheating crap like you get in spoons. Hotel is about a 5 min walk from Torquay town and harbour which was a massive bonus!! May take a little longer getting back as it's mainly up hill but nothing to bad to handle. The only real disadvantages I could say about this place which I don't really want to add as it really is a lovely place but the parking was a bit tight, it was a bit of a squeeze and the rooms window on top floor was hard to open and undo and unfortunately the blind fell off and broke as I tried to adjust it but the hosts didn't fuss over it which was nice of them. But anyway, this hotel really is lovely and location is great, the owners were excellent, id definitely return and recommend this to anyone. Thank you for making our week just that extra bit more relaxing :) You'll know who this is from the blindes comment haha.

We had a baby free weekend this weekend and stayed here for one night. The host was lovely, the hotel is very homely, nice extra touches around the house too, like sweets and a wide range of teas on the landings and cookies in your room with your tea etc. The hotel is about a 10-15min walk from the centre which makes it perfect as you can't hear any of the noise of the weekend nightlife. We had a double room with shared bathroom/toilets, which I wasn't sure about at first but it was fine. Everything was super clean. Our room had everything we'd need in it, I was thankful to find the hairdryer after the rain on Saturday. Sunday morning we had breakfast, the man cooking/serving was very attentive we didn't run out of anything, there's loads of choice. We had a full English and it was the best we've had. When visiting Torquay again we'd love to stay here. Thank you again.

A really friendly and comfortable small hotel with an old fashioned central staircase. Plenty of odds and ends decorating the stair well with a sense of humour. Lovely room right up at the top and the fine breakfast was served right down in the basement! It's not in the centre of town which is possibly a bonus as it can, according to the locals we met, get quite "lively" of an evening. Your a ten minute walk from all the hullabaloo. One nice touch in the room was a tray containing a selection of different teas and coffees and a small jar of dolly mixtures. Ace!

Stayed here over the weekend with few friends - we arrived really late due to a few roads beings shut and a long drive. Despite the late arrival we were greeted with a friendly welcome and a smiling face - instantly felt like we were at home. We had two double rooms which were both decorated in a homely manner with plenty of tea, sweets and cookies as a nice touch. The owner was up bright and early and made an absolutely amazing fry up - there was a vegan and veggie among our group and she put on a good spread for them too. Plenty of juice, cereals and amazing home made bread, it is safe to say we left feeling very full and ready for the day. Everything was very clean and maintained to a good standard. Really short walk into the centre. My one only teeny tiny complaint was the bed was a little springy for me but I still slept well. Thanks so much for the overall brilliant stay - would definitely come again :)
