“Nice, quiet place to stay in the city and with a good western restuarant”

After several hotels in different towns of south China, I found this place refreshingly different. The attire of the receptionists for one, the elephant sculptures, the semicircular building, the ample parking and some quietness even when near the busy city roads. The breakfast in the western restaurant in the ground floor had a good choice of Chinese and western dishes. The Chinese dinner too was excellent. The area nearby is good for some shopping and the park is not veryfar from the hotel.

“Centrally located”

We booked a family room with 4 beds. We like this hotel as it's sort of back away from the noise of the street and centrally located with many shops around. Staff are friendly. “5 star hotel?”

In Internet the hotel is called a 5 star hotel, but it is far away from that level. My room had a water heater and some tea bags, but no refrigerator. In Internet the hotel is called a 5 star hotel, but it is far away from that level. My room had a water heater and some tea bags, but no refrigerator. When I ordered the room the description said "up to two people" and also including breakfast, but only 1 breakfast is included, for the 2nd you have to pay 38 RMB. The breakfast buffett is not bad and it is worth the price, but never leave your table unattended, otherwise they remove everything very fast, even if your dish or your coffee cup is not empty. The room has no shelfs at all where to could put your underware or your socks; only some hangers for the pants or shirts. I had several problems with the bath room; broken shower heads, water coming out from the toilet,lousy smell; but they fixed it always very fast. The room and towels have been very clean, above the average in China. The chinese restaurant in the 2nd floor serves very good food for a fair price, but the serving personal is not very well trained and they have some problems in understanding English. Around the hotels are a lot of restaurants and also a shopping mall. If you know where to go you can take a bus going down town; it costs only 1 RMB. But you must have 1RMB notes, because the bus driver has no change. After entering the bus you have to drop your money in a funil and it fells down in a box. You can ask in the hotel to change your money before using a bus. In the bus the next station is shown on a screen in chinese and english and also announced in chinese and english. In the hotel you receive only 1 room card which you have to insert to make the air condition working. When leaving the room you have to take your card and the air condition stops working. Coming back in the afternoon your room turned in a sauna and it takes some time before the room temperature goes down to accepable temperatures. But be aware that the air condition is very noisy! The rooms have only wired internet access which does not allow you to use a tablet. Who is taking a lap top on a holiday trip?
