“Superb for foreigners to get the flavor of Japan.”
This ryokan is superb. They were very welcoming for American tourists. We stayed a full week, which is unusual for them. But we wanted to explore the Kyoto area. The meals were fantastic. “Excellent location, clean and hospitable but just a basic hotel with rooms decorated in ryokan style.”
Let me first say that the hospitality and cleanliness of the hotel AND the location were excellent. The reason I have scored lower is that this is definitely a hotel decorated in ‘ryokan’ style. “Nice place”
Great location to walk old Kyoto. The hotel itself is a little dated but clean. Make sure to ask for extra pillows. “Average ryokan”
Located in Gion which is a lovely area to explore, but not practical for access to the the main railway system. The room was a nice size with a separate toilet and bathroom.
