“Would deffo recommend!!!”

Came back from our holiday yesterday in Salou staying at the Golden Port Salou at would definately recommend!! We watched videos on youtube of the hotel before we came but tbey didnt do the hotel justice! • First impressions of the hotel were excellent, lovely clean fresh smell as soon as you walk through the door (and i dont mean disguising with bleach, I mean properly clean with a lovely light air freshener smell) and as someone who is fussy about cleanliness this hotel was spot on, you would regularly see staff working hard to keep the standards up • The food was lovely and the buffet had something for everyone, I dont eat fish and usually go for quite bland food and I still had lots to choose from. There were foods that were consistently there all week like pizza, pasta and sauces, different forms of potatoes, vegetables and then there was something different every night such as different meats, fajita wraps, curry, paella, different fish and also excellent desserts!!! The breakfast was fantastic too, the omelettes were delicious and the chef would make whatever flavour you asked for and my son absolutely loved the pancakes with nutella! Also a lovely cafebar as an extra place to eat or drink. •The pools were great and there are a couple of smaller ones for the smaller kiddies which was good. It was also nice to have the indoor pool which was a bit warmer as the outdoor ones were rather cold! The football/basketball court was great for my son who loves football and he also loved the bingo at nighttime! There was also plenty of pool tables which was good so there was no waiting around to play! • The room we had was great, we stayed in the family suites which is quite a new building so it was very modern and my son had his own room with a little dividing door for privacy. The balcony was a very generous size with a pull out airer for towels and swimwear which was handy. • Finally the location was bang on. 25 minutes from the airport in the coach so no extra travelling after your plane journey. It was less than 5 minute walk out the back of the hotel (which is secured access and you use your room key to go in and out the door) to the shops/bars/restaurants and a further 5 to the beach so a real central location. We went to Portaventura theme park which I would recommend if you or your family like rides and it was a 5 minute taxi ride away. We also went to the Caribe waterpark (situated in Portaventura world) which was brilliant, would definately recommend! All in all a fantastic holiday in Salou, we didnt want to come home and that was mainly thanks to the Golden Port Salou!!

There’s plenty of sun lounges, but found that you need to be early to get a good sun trap because some people are out first thing putting towels on to save them. A gorgeous hotel, very clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There’s plenty of sun lounges, but found that you need to be early to get a good sun trap because some people are out first thing putting towels on to save them. The entertainment is also very good on an evening. No music played throughout the day outside, but you can play your own at a reasonable volume. Location is good too, short cut through the cafe at back of hotel to get to beach, 10/15 minutes away. The restaurant is very nice and well organised. There’s a good selection of food to choose from, the only problem I have with the food is that unfortunately it’s not very hot, even though the food is kept under food lamps, it was just warm. I would recommend this hotel to my family and friends. Weather was great, got a nice tan.

A very nice looking hotel , good location the rooms are nicely decorated and stylish as are the corridors and lobbies. The indoor pool looks quite grubby and despite the fact it is meant to be heated it was not. Now for my main negatives we were all inclusive which we upgraded to a week before travelling what a waste of money that was. The snack bar for inclusive is shocking cold food that has been standing for hours I got so sick of it by the last day I did lose my temper and asked for fresh hot chips. It’s the same every day . We felt like 2nd class citizens and an inconvenience for being all inclusive, the food that was coming out for paying guests looked lovely. In the bar the waiters don’t serve you at the table but do serve none AI guests, obviously they think they won’t get tipped. You can only have watered down rubbish cocktails if you want a nice one you have to pay!! If they don’t want all inclusive guests then don’t offer that board .option. Mini ice creams only on offer . The staff in the restaurant are pleasant enough but bar staff majority don’t crack a smile. Entertainment was ok. We are still here but thank god it’s our last night looking forward to getting home , it wasn’t a bad holiday but wouldn’t come back definitely don’t waste your money and upgrade it really isn’t worth it.
