Visited with family having been there twice before (before the recent renovation). Expectations were high, and it delivered! Great all round experience where certainly cannot really fault anything. A few niggles with room cleanliness and minor maintenance issues with shower and balcony railing, however this were rectified fully within 30mins of reporting Highly recommend the hotel and resort!

“Great relaxing holiday”

This is our third visit to this hotel and we had a great time. We were meant to be going to Southern Rhodes but, due to the wildfires, we changed to this hotel within 2 weeks of departure as we kind of knew what to expect. This is our third visit to this hotel and we had a great time. We were meant to be going to Southern Rhodes but, due to the wildfires, we changed to this hotel within 2 weeks of departure as we kind of knew what to expect. Only the deluxe rooms were left, which we booked. Pros: Generally friendly staff. The Mexican and Brazillian restraurants are a must try. Make sure you book ASAP on arrival on the Barceo app, we tried to book a couple of days after arrival and there was no space that week and the earliest was the Wednesday the following week. We were there 2 weeks so was not an issue, not sure what would have happened if we were only there a week. Evening entertainment was generally excellent. Excellent location, close to beach, shops, etc. Slightly nicer beach for sand is a 15 minute walk and a nice shopping mall. Our room was very quiet and a comfortable bed. Cleanliness was excellent. We had a couple of maintenance issues with our room, but I raised this on the Barcelo app and they were dealt with within 20 minutes and a very friendly maintenance guy. I see some reviewers mentioning things like soap not replenished, we had the same but there was an option within the app to request more and it was also delivered to our room very quickly. Barcelo app is a must in my opinion and was very useful. The seperate section in the Tindaya restaurant (which I'm not sure is for standard all inclusive or because we had a deluxe room), which is closely guarded, provided some additional variety, but I think I would have been annoyed if I was denied access if I wasn't all inclusive due to the general lack of daily variety in the main buffet. Pools are big and generally clean, although if you have sensitive eyes, googles are a must due to salt (very salty) water of the pools. We did not have any issues getting sunbeds, although we would put towels down before going for breakfast and then using the beds straight after. If we went for a walk in the morning we did not put towels down but found beds in a decent area without issue. Some areas had towels on very early, especially the ones nearest the pool bar or under the shaded areas. Table service was good in the Green Bar, there were long queues to be served in the bar, but if you do not need a drink urgently, usually a waiter would be at the table within 10 - 15 minutes. Cons: The All Inclusive option, which we had on our previous two visits, is a lot more restrictive than previously. For example only two cocktails on the list, whereas there were about half a dozen previously. There seem to be other tiers that gave different benefits, which I found confusing, eg. All inclusive plus, Deluxe room, Royal level, etc. Food in the Tindaya buffet restaurant in the evening was the same every day with only minimal variation. Therefore we ate out more than we expected to. For example, there was nothing like pizza, wraps/fajitas, etc. On previous visits there were daily themed nights that mixed it up and kept it interesting, the Barcelo app even mentions themed nights but was not the case during our visit. Some of the potato dishes were usually undercooked and hard, although the majority of the dishes were tasty and of decent quality. Trying to get drinks in the Tindaya restaurant, more often than not, meant having to try to get the attention of staff to get drinks as we were not generally asked when seated and there was not a self serve option for beer, cola, etc. Although the waiting staff were generally very friendly. The UI of the Barcelo app was a bit clunky and certain things were quite hard to find. For example I could not really find in one place exactly what benefits we had with our all inclusive and room type, especially with other Barcelo bars/restaurants in the wider resort outside the hotel with some included, some only on certain tiers, others with a discount, not as straightforward as other places we have visited. The recent refurbishment did not appear to cover the outside (pool) area, in particular the bridge over the non-heated pool was in a bit of a sad state. People were pulling on the rope on the underside of the bridge and it was concerning the amount of broken off rope that ended up in the pool each day! Overall it was a great stay, especially at the short notice we had to change hotel and destination, but the food and all inclusive was a disappointment, especially compared to our previous visits and knowing what it was previously like. The Mexican and Brazillian restuarants made up for some of that, but we were only allowed to visit each once. If we were to book again, we may consider going half-board. Spa access was included in the deluxe room, but is only for people aged 16+. Due to having young children we did not try it as it would have meant only one of us being able to use it at a time. Although I expect the spa would have also been great.

This is out second time at the Barceló fuerteventura mar lat time was 4 years ago (covid) once we arrived at hotel and at reception we were told that it is €10 euros each deposit for beach towel, and 3 euros at night for safe deposit box in our room not refunded, so before we start they want money from you, get to our room by ourselves 8216 view was of back of main bar wall and glass, I thought as returning guest could of been better, water in room which was great for a cup of tea , next mot breakfast was just ok, lunch not so good and even dinner not ok, didn’t seem much variety in food options, I know it’s all inclusive. When we stayed last time food was the same but because it had a revamp we thought give it another go, bad mistake food always warm or cold, no water put in rooms in morning by maid you have to go to bar and get it, pools very salty, if they did b&b this would be a better option, as we have been eating out 5 of the 7 nights here, would definitely not come back here on al option, had to tell barman to put less Bacardi in my drink as it was like paint stopper so strong done this many times, caleta is lovely area with bars and shops, but this hotel never again for us. I will say hotel offered to move us on the tues afternoon to a different room, we arrived on the sat morning we said no not swapping rooms for 3 more days
