I stayed here in 2018 and loved it enough to return this summer. This inn is a great option for visiting the Salzkammergut region, being a short distance away you avoid the higher prices and are in a typical Austrian environment. Of course you can pay more and get something exquisite but for me this is ideal. The room was more than adequate and spotlessly clean. I had a good bathroom with an excellent shower. Wi-fi was fine. There is decent car park. I had booked in advance and check-in was swift and friendly, as was checking out. Indeed all the staff I met were cheerful and friendly. The breakfast (included) was better than average, a good buffet with the option of scrambled eggs to order. For what I paid it was excellent and the coffee was good, which is too often not the case. I used the restaurant the two evenings I was there and can recommend it, especially the Wiener Schnitzel. The local beer on tap is refreshingly hoppy, if you like beer do try it. The waitress was very helpful and friendly. The prices were very reasonable. This a charming traditional old inn with history, which is displayed. I love the relaxed, traditional atmosphere. I'll be back.

A group of friends and I stayed here for a few nights in August. It was a beautiful place to stay with comfortable bedding, nice views and amazing storage space. Each room has a small, and tidy bathroom, and it was very homely. We ate at the restaurant in the evenings and sometimes for snacks. The food was authentic and delicious and the staff were so kind, and welcoming (and spoke good English). There was a large selection of breakfast foods, which were delicious. Warm coffee and tea too! Danke Ziegelbock, we'll be back!!

“Good budget hotel”

The hotel itself was a good value for money. Clean, with basic facilities and in a nice surroundings. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The food was fantastic! Breakfast - decent choice and we were asked how we would like our eggs cooked and subsequently received our orders freshly cooked.… Mai mult

The hotel itself was a good value for money. Clean, with basic facilities and in a nice surroundings. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The food was fantastic! Breakfast - decent choice and we were asked how we would like our eggs cooked and subsequently received our orders freshly cooked. The only downside to the hotel, was our evening meal. While the meal itself was excellent! The restaurant was not a non-smoking place, which was fine to start with, but as a larger group of people arrived and started smoking, we were very glad to depart. I would have liked to enjoy our desert, but not with all that smoke around.... I would not like to have children in an environment like that. If the hotel improves on this one fault, I will happily return.
