“Excellent hotel for nearby conference venues!”

We were attending a conference in the IMI Church which is a large church and conference venue next door to this hotel. I stayed here last year and rebooked for this year's conference. There are other conference and sporting venues close by, so this is a popular hotel. There are many Thon Hotels all over Norway, they are a mid- range hotel chain with very consistent standards. This one is a "partner" hotel which suggests it is independently owned but operates under the Thon brand. Location: The hotel is not in the centre, take a bus from the airport and get off at Tjensvollkryssen. You then just cross over a foot bridge. The hotel is 21 stories high, you can't really miss it! Reception: The young lady who checked us in was excellent. Very helpful in getting me set up on the local transport app and answered any questions. Staff were always helpful when approached. Room: We had a superior room on the 19th floor. Thon Hotel standard rooms tend to be quite small, so book superior if you want more space. The room was on the corner of the oval shaped hotel building. We had a huge wrap around window with great views over Stavanger. The bed was very comfortable, but hanging and shelf space was very limited and there was no desk, due to the shape of the room. The bathroom was very large and spacious and had a bath tub with overhead shower. I would probably book a standard room next time, I didn't feel the superior room justified the extra cost. Breakfast: Served on the 21st floor with fantastic views all over Stavanger. Excellent choice of food from the hot and cold buffets. An excellent choice if you need to be in this particular area of Stavanger. Be aware that the centre of town is about 10 minutes away by bus. Thon have a couple of hotels in the centre and there are many other hotel options. Restaurant: A restaurant operates at night in the breakfast room but it is expensive and choice is limited. We ate dinner at the nearby Clarion Edge Hotel, about five minutes walk away. Conclusion: A clean and well run hotel, very convenient for nearby conference venues. Views from higher floor rooms and the breakfast room are wonderful. I am happy to recommend this hotel to others.

Minus: In my room there was this partially open hatch in the ceiling in the bathroom. The room is pretty small so you have to be creative when storing your clothes on the clothing rack. Also there are very few power outlets in the room. They are only by the bed, so when using the kettle I had to us… Meer

Minus: In my room there was this partially open hatch in the ceiling in the bathroom. The room is pretty small so you have to be creative when storing your clothes on the clothing rack. Also there are very few power outlets in the room. They are only by the bed, so when using the kettle I had to use it in the bathroom. In my friends room they never restocked the toiletries. If you like having the window open you'll hear seagulls early in the morning at the nearby roof. They didn't acknowledge my Thon Platinum membership with even a water bottle before I asked them. Plus: Got my friends room upgraded (I think). He had toiletries and bathrobes, but they were actually trying to charge for the upgrade at reception by a price list. Anyway, my friend loved his room. Both of our rooms were wrapped around the elevator but we didn't hear anything, nor from the neighbours. Everything was clean. It's not in the city center so it's perfect if you have a car, and there are lots of parking spaces nearby for a reasonable price. The breakfast is amazing, like most Thon Hotels properties. The view is really great too, looking at the sunrise while eating breakfast, too bad the floor is closed outside of breakfast.

The hotel is clean and staff are polite and professional. Avoid room 2005 on the 20th floor if you don’t want woken up at 05:45 each morning. The staff set out all the chairs in the breakfast room (directly above on 21st floor). Very noisy and can hear chairs being moved around even with ear plug… Meer

The hotel is clean and staff are polite and professional. Avoid room 2005 on the 20th floor if you don’t want woken up at 05:45 each morning. The staff set out all the chairs in the breakfast room (directly above on 21st floor). Very noisy and can hear chairs being moved around even with ear plugs in. The food in the Restaurant (Level 2) is good but a very small limited menu that was the same for two nights in a row.
