For a budget hotel this is one of my favourite ones I've stayed in. Our room was on the second floor, we arrived at dusk and I was blown away from the view. The sun was beaming over the mountains. The hotel is pretty good, the rooms are quite quaintly designed and the hotel has a small swimming pool, gym and a sauna. I was a little let down that they wanted to charge us an extortionate amount to cook an Asado for us, despite informing them we'd be happy to pay a small fee and cook our own bought food. They weren't happy with this, which is a shame as our tour manager had used the parrilla the year before. The staff were kind to me, although my Argentinian friends were surprised by how short they were with them. The breakfast wasn't up to much but the hotel is very nicely situated, close by to everything. I'd happily stay here again, and plan on doing so next year, despite the few small issues.

The room was clean as well as bathroom. Did not enjoy the swimming pool due to the weather but had a good time there. Wifi is low but as everywhere I have been in Argentina. Good deal.

Overall, Hotel Samka is a pretty good hotel for the price, with just a few inconveniences. For the pros: big, clean rooms with TV and air conditioning; cold breakfast in the morning with ham and cheese; walking distance to everything For the cons: Wi-Fi only in public areas not your room; break… Plus

Overall, Hotel Samka is a pretty good hotel for the price, with just a few inconveniences. For the pros: big, clean rooms with TV and air conditioning; cold breakfast in the morning with ham and cheese; walking distance to everything For the cons: Wi-Fi only in public areas not your room; breakfast hours start at 7 so if you're doing a day tour you have to scarf down food before your 7:15-7:45 pickup window; afternoon staff when I was there didn't really speak English; no tour desk so you have to go out to book tours (or the staff didn't understand me) But to the latter point, there are a few travel / tour agencies a few blocks away so it's not a big deal if you're willing to walk around and look.

The hotel is located a few blocks from the main square and you can walk back ar night without any problem as the street is busy. The rooms are ok. Ilumination a bit dark a part from the bathroom. Plenty of hot water. There is a nice pool. The people at reception are friendly and helpful. I could check in early. Although breakfast is served from 07:00 on I could always get something earlier before leaving at 06:30 for the excursions Good experience and surely worth the price. The only negative point were the towels. They were changed daily a freshly washed but were all rather grey and grubby looking. No holes or worn, just the colout was not so good.

“Fair!”

We were in a motorcycle tour in Argentina, Bolivia and Chile... coming back, we have stopped in Salta and stayed at Samka hotel. It is ok for one night! Salta is a beautiful town and if you can, spend one more day over there!
