“Great ”

I had a great stay here for 1 night 36€ only! I had a comfy double bed and the room was very clean. Lady on reception was really nice, she asked the chef from restaurant next door if he'd move his car so that I can park in the spot which he did. I had a great stay here for 1 night 36€ only! I had a comfy double bed and the room was very clean. Lady on reception was really nice, she asked the chef from restaurant next door if he'd move his car so that I can park in the spot which he did. The restaurant offered a 3 course meal for 12€ and would have been great quality but I opted to sit in large bar next to hotel reception that had great tapas and good red wine. Driving south the hotel comes up on left hand side at exactly km 306, do not turn left into it!!! There's a continuous white line which means don't cross it, go further on for 2km to village of Pancorbo which comes up on your right, go in there (providing your in a small vehicle, cars and short wheelbase vans will get a turn but motor homes forget it, go further on till you can turn around) to turn around then back to main road and go back up 2km and being very diligent when turning left, lots and lots of HGVs use the road!!!

“Good stopover let down by poor reception cover ”

We stopped over here on our way from St Malo to Albox. The hotel is on the main road so very convenient but a bit noisy, especially if you have the window open. However the room was Ok and the restaurant served a menu of the day that was OK for 11 euros {including a bottle of drinkable wine.} A... lisää

We stopped over here on our way from St Malo to Albox. The hotel is on the main road so very convenient but a bit noisy, especially if you have the window open. However the room was Ok and the restaurant served a menu of the day that was OK for 11 euros {including a bottle of drinkable wine.} As we are used to 2 pillows and the bed had only one I asked the receptionist for another, when it didn't come I tried to find someone but the reception desk was not staffed and there was no indication of how I could contact anyone. After about 15 minutes another receptionist arrived by car and immediately found me a pillow. Not a major issue I know but it could have been more important, so it's not very reassuring to realise there is no way to contact the receptionist. I note there are new owners and suggest they install some sort of calling bell in reception. Summary for 55eros a night and 22eros for diner it served its purpose well.

“OK but could be a lot better”

Certainly not the best 3 star hotel of the very many I’ve stayed in in Spain. Negatives Quite shabby No internet in the rooms No drinking vessel in the room, not even a cardboard one. No lighting in the corridor to our rooms. Making it difficult to get the key into the keyhole No lift to 2nd flo... lisää

Certainly not the best 3 star hotel of the very many I’ve stayed in in Spain. Negatives Quite shabby No internet in the rooms No drinking vessel in the room, not even a cardboard one. No lighting in the corridor to our rooms. Making it difficult to get the key into the keyhole No lift to 2nd floor – or any – rooms No shampoo or gel A bathroom that couldn’t be described as modern, but was functional Positives - Good free parking. - Nice view from my room window. - Relatively quiet surroundings. - A bath - Decent – but pricey - food, under the aegis of the affable head waiter, José. Who promised to send water and glasses to our rooms and to ensure we had wifi. Half of which he delivered on. - An adjacent bar, where one can have just a coffee in the morning, avoiding €10 for a continental breakfast. Af €80 in September 2023, overpriced in my view. But choice was limited because of the Vuelta de España taking place in northern Spain at this time. And it might be less pricey in normal times.
