A friend and I stopped at this hotel for one night but it's the kind of place that invites a longer stay. We were in the area to tour the Tito Bustillo cave paintings and found that the hotel pickings in the area are rather slender. The El Carmen is in a tiny village off a narrow road. It is elegant in its simplicity and the staff does everything possible to make the visitor feel welcome. The room was simple and the bathroom small but all our needs were taken care of. There is a beautiful garden outside, with seating for reading, relaxing or enjoying a bottle of wine -- or all three. I would unhesitatingly return.

“Very good value for money”

Except for location (far from all the amenities but close enough to highway to hear the noise), this small hotel is ideal. The rooms are spacious and well equipped, the woman running the hotel is very helpful and pleasant, breakfast is also good as well as the garden where you can relax. And don'... lisää

Except for location (far from all the amenities but close enough to highway to hear the noise), this small hotel is ideal. The rooms are spacious and well equipped, the woman running the hotel is very helpful and pleasant, breakfast is also good as well as the garden where you can relax. And don't forget that all these you are getting for more than a fair price. Would reco for anybody who does not absolutely need an ocean view while staying in this region.

“Outstainding accomdations & value”

We just spent a month in Spain and this hotel was the best value of the trip. A beautiful location, a very short and scenic drive into the the town of Ribadesellas. The hotel is very nicely appointed, charming antiques etc and the garden is fantastic. The bathrooms are a bit cramped but who cares... lisää

The hotel is very nicely appointed, charming antiques etc and the garden is fantastic. The bathrooms are a bit cramped but who cares. The young lady who owns and works at the Hotel (I cant' believe I have forgotten her name) was very kind and accommodating.

“Charming ....”

Nice boutique hotel with a beautiful garden! Clean, rather new, nice and helpful staff. We wanted to stay only 1 night and ended up staying 3 nights there .... great location if you want to go hiking and to the beach from one location ... good breakfast, recommendable!
