“Best experience ever”

By far W Vieques is the best resort ever (quality and money-wise). The views, amenities, food and staff are amazing. I'm looking forward to visit other W to see if I get a similar experience. Unfortunately right now the hotel is closed due to hurricane Maria.

This hotel was truly a definition of island paradise. I took the trip with my boyfriend and after spending some time on the main island we needed a little vacation from our vacation. The W Vieques is a beautiful resort with stunning views! The water was so clear and I loved that there was a private adult beach. PJ the bartender was so friendly and really took his time to get to know the guests staying at the hotel. We felt very welcomed whenever we saw him. Yaritza the W Insider went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. We had been in touch with her prior to our trip to ask her for advice and recommendations and boy did she have the best recommendations! The island is very small so there is only a limited amount of activities to do. It is definitely more quiet and relaxing. I would check out the bio bay, but bring lots of mosquito repellent. I am sadden to hear that this hotel was affected by the hurricane and pray to our friends for their well-being and safety. I would recommend this hotel again and again. I hope that I do get to stay at the W Vieques again in the future.

My friend and I stayed for 6 days at the W Resort and Spa in Vieques. We had two pool view rooms and were very please. We had a very nice time and will return. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the grounds are well maintained. I loved the common areas and bohemian decorations. There are a lot of spots to lounge on big spacious chairs. The rooms are very spacious and awesome for couples. The beds and tub are surrounded by curtains for privacy and sets a nice ambiance. The adult beach is better than the family beach. The family beach has a large slab or rock in the beginning of the beach so be mindful. The beaches off the resort are beautiful (Sun Bay and Blue beach (Chivas) and medaluna were my favorites. We rented a car for 2 days... very easy to navigate the island and highly recommend exploring. There isn’t any beach service so you have to grab your own drinks...the resort should consider this. There is also an adult pool and a family pool as well as a large adults only pool at the back of the resort! The food was for the most part delish especially at the wet bar. Robert the bartender was great and made awesome cocktails for us. We tried almost everything on the menu. Highly recommend the frozen passion fruit mojitos, the Caesar with shrimp (jumbo), empanadas and the best Cuban sandwich ever, the tostones ... get my drift you can’t go wrong with the food. We had a few nights at Sorce where they ran out of the more popular food options or our food wasn’t prepared as asked but they team was very responsive and worked to rectify everything. So food would be overall 4 stars. The service was ok... 3 stars (food service 4, housekeeping 2 stars). Our worst experience was with room service. The girl only really swept the rooms and made the beds... not impressed at all! I will say that Chelsea one of the managers overheard my friend and I discussing the housekeeping and tried to re tidy immediately, so really appreciate that! Other pluses the lounge at the airport as you wait for your flight... very nice since the airport is small and hot. The car service to and from the airport. The property is easy to navigate. They have a nightly cocktail hour. Would love some light nightly entertainment- even if a local band. Overall the hotel was great with a few minor tweaks. I hope that Hurricane Maria did not ruin the beautiful island of Vieques or the lovely W. I hope to return soon!

I've always enjoyed the W brand and when I researched romantic getaways on the islands, I was excited to see there was a property on Vieques. As it's an island off the coast of Puerto Rico I am afraid that post hurricane Irma, Vieques will have its challenges for many months before they can be open for visitors or vacationers. The rooms are fantastic. Request rooms adjacent to warm soaking pool as they are the only ones that face west to enjoy the sunset view unobstructed. Beaches are beautiful. Rent a jeep and explore the private beaches on the island. Nice pool and great service at this W and the food offered was quiet good. However, there is only one place to eat at the resort so you have to leave the property for variety. I would have liked to see at least one other gourmet style restaurant at this large property. The other miss is that although you can get a massage in a zen garden spa, they do not have a single amenity for their guests. No sauna. No steam. Again, they have the perfect location and plenty of space but not thought out as well as it could be, especially given the W brand. If they ever reopen after the storm recovery, I would recommend it but be aware of its shortcomings.
