Alicante exceeded our expectations. What a beautiful city! The Gran Sol hotel was fab. Right across from the marina. We walked out the airport and jumped on the bus, 15 mins later we were at the marina, crossed the road and arrived at the hotel. You can’t miss it, it’s the tallest building in Alicante! Lovely friendly staff. Great breakfast and what a selection! Our room was on the 16th floor and WOW what a view we had. Beautiful bright, spotlessly clean big room. Great shower and the best hairdryer I’ve ever had in a hotel room. Safe, TV and fridge in room. You must visit the bar/restaurant on the 26th floor. You walk out the hotel and you have lovely bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk. Already planning our next trip!

We were very happy with this hotel which was ideally located near to all the main attractions, bars and restaurants. The hotel staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The staff did everything they could to make us feel welcome and ensure we had everything we needed. There is a great rooftop bar with lovely views across the city. The breakfast was excellent with a wide range of hot and cold food to choose from. Also appreciated was that breakfast was until 11am every day, as you do not always get this much flexibility in other hotels. We had a lovely corner room on the 18th floor with panoramic views. We found the hotel quite noisy at night and you could hear other guests and noise outside, but this was outweighed by all the positives. Highly recommended.

“Nice hotel with great sea view”

Nice hotel with a great location. Views are absolutely great, it's well worth paying some extra for the sea view! The bathroom was a bit small and dated. You have to ask for all the amenities which we found a bit inconvenient. There was a small fridge in the room.

Nice hotel. Staff friendly. Breakfast buffet amazing. Great location, but very noisy. The city never sleeps and you have cars racing around at 4am in the morning. Lifts slow and small. Nice hotel. Staff friendly. Breakfast buffet amazing. Great location, but very noisy. The city never sleeps and you have cars racing around at 4am in the morning. Lifts slow and small. On higher floors wind is terrible. Very noisy at night. If you don't intend to be in your room a lot, go for a lower floor as you can queue for the lift at busy times for 10 mins. You can walk 3 flights of stairs, but we were on the 11th floor and we had to walk down twice. Rubbish soundproof. Don't know if we were just unlucky but the couple next door talked really loudly. Rooftop bar disappointing. The food was too fussy. The staff were busy, but prefered waiting at bigger groups of people - im sensing the tips were bigger. There are no outside terraces that you can sit out in. The small terrace in your room is the width of a chair. There's no pool. There is a kettle and a fridge in the room but need to ask at reception for tea and coffee. I couldnt work it out and spent an hour searching for a hidden drawer or something. I suggest bringing your own teabags and buying milk at supermarket next door. Would I return to this hotel - probably for one night, but no more.
