We stayed at the Fullerton for 3 nights on our way to New Zealand during which time we celebrated our wedding anniversary It was magnificent. We arrived on an early flight from the UK and did have to wait for our room to be ready. We found the reception staff, we found a little abrupt, especially compared to the fantastic concierge staff who always greeted us and for them nothing was too much trouble. When we were able to access our room we were delighted. It was a large room with a huge balcony over looking the main entrance. The bed couldn’t have been more comfortable. The evening turn down service felt like a touch of luxury. As for the bathroom, we loved it, a powerful shower, a huge bath, the beautiful fluffy towels, the bathrobes and slippers, a toilet that automatically opened and heated as you entered🤣, along with quality toiletries. The crockery and glasses in the room were of high quantity. We had a lovely surprise of an anniversary cake, cake forks and linen napkins. The Fullerton is in the perfect position to explore Singapore by foot. It is right next to Boat Quay. It is easy walking distance of China Town, The Gardens by the Bay and the Hawker Centre, Lau Pa Sat and I’m sure of many other areas we didn’t have time to visit. It was amusing to witness sightseers from other hotels come into the foyer to have their photos taken in the Fullerton. We had a limited knowledge of Singapore before we attended both the “Tours”, these are more of a talk, which we can highly recommend that are given by the very knowledgeable Bill. It was so good to learn about the history of both the city and the hotel. I think the breakfast in the hotel is one of the best I have ever experienced, you could eat your way around the world. We especially enjoyed the delicious omelettes and fresh fruit, one downside was the English Breakfast Tea. It had a strange taste and wasn’t hot. On two mornings the maitre d said the main dinning room was full and would we like to sit in the courtyard, we didn’t want breakfast there and said no. Quickly a table became available in the main restaurant. After a morning sightseeing, we enjoyed the use of the infinity pool. A big shout out to those who staff this. Once again nothing was too much trouble. They wanted you to be comfortable and enjoy your time there, handing out the fluffiest of towels and finding you a place to sit. The complimentary fresh fruit or ice cream was a wonderful surprise. At checkout the hotel would like you to use the automatic check out, the reception staff tried to get us to do this - we had questions we wished to as and therefore waited to speak to the reception staff.
