After 7 nights at hotel Samba, I feel I would not return, although the holiday wasn't the worst, it was basic, in terms of food, decor and staffing, and the Entertainment team were off-putting for ever returning as a family. POSITIVES * Great location, short walk into town * Mini Market close by * Pillows and beds comfortable enough * Large pool area, sun loungers always available * Fresh towels daily * Bar man at pool very pleasant * 1 life guard very friendly NEGATIVES * Lots of school trips- teens in bar No ID checked in bars, young people drinking alcohol in games room, not 18. * Small rooms, 3 single beds pushed together for 2 adults 1 child, no walking room if beds were apart, this was fine for us as our child slept in middle bed and no issues, however may not suit everyone * Entertainment extremely poor, animation team appear uninterested and inexperienced, appears to maybe be a summer job, had more interest in teenage males and bringing them onto the stage to mess around than the children who were there to watch their shows- excluded some children from shows each night and would not let them join in- some children crying and upset * Staff appear to work long shifts, catering staff in the AM were bar/ Entertainment staff by night * Only 3 elevators- always a que or taking stairs with a baby and pram * Wifi very poor signal * Rooms could do with updating, depending on floor level, some rooms are very outdated * Food for breakfast and lunch for All Inclusive was repetitive, cannot comment on dinner as we went into town for dinner each night * Only soft drinks/beer served outside of main bar, cocktails could not be served or brought to pool area as no glass allowed at pool and refused to give drink in plastic cup to all inclusive guests * Items not on all inclusive are very expensive- go to mini market across road, half the price All in all, not the worst hotel I'm sure, but I would not return

Honestly if you’ve already booked this hotel it will be fine but if you haven’t then I would suggest you don’t. Not the worst hotel ever but the things that make a holiday fun are not possible here, not even allowed a little ball in the pool, me and my son were the only 2 in the pool throwing a tiny ball to each other ( he’s 7 ) and we were told off . Also try tell the kids you can’t swim until 10 ! Treated like your less of a guest for being all inclusive, staff rude, avoided serving you at times and would serve paying guests before all Inclusive even if you were there first Massive queue at the bar at nights, we gave up and went out for drinks, entertainment is awful and the groups of kids running the floors knocking doors and partying until early morning means you get very little sleep, security didn’t seem to care Location is excellent though and there’s something for everyone, it didn’t spoil our holiday but we made our own fun and took off to the beach

Okay. The hotel in general is - just ok. The location is great. But the entertainment is a 1 star. The ‘entertainers’ are miserable and boring and do not get people engaged. If you are all inclusive, don’t bother. Although you have a wristband, You have a card system also and have to give your room key and a drinks card every time to go to the bar. And there is only 1 all inclusive bar (3 paying bars) you can only get 1 drink at a time and have to return your glass to be able to get another drink. This might not sound too bad, but when you have to climb 4 flights of stairs to get to the bar when you are by the pool, it’s a pain. The pool opens at 10am and you can’t even go into the sunbathing areas until 10am- they have locked gates until this time. The pool has no chlorine there was lumps of hair floating in the pool (although the pool does look clean) you are not allowed floaties/lilo’s or balls etc in the pool. A bit rubbish as children like to use them. (As well as the adults) They had a hot dog eating completion (was fun to watch) and the prizes for winning were very good. Bottle of champagne and a free 3 course meal in the a la carte restaurant. The food is ok- but very repetitive so gets boring. But there are loads of cheap eateries close by. MIL had a massage and said it was really good. (Be careful with some of the good reviews, when booking a massage, they give you a discount if you leave a good review at the time of booking) Honestly, do not go all inclusive. The cocktails outside the hotel are very good for money but beer seems to be expensive. I think that’s all I can say. I’m trying to give positive reviews whilst also being very honest.
