“Great escape family friendly, great staff clean place!”

Loved our vaca, everything was wonderful! Beautiful beach! Nice staff! Family friendly hotel lots of things to do in the resorts and great restaurants around. Very close from Hyannis. So many things to do in Cape Cod!

We enjoyed our stay at the Riviera Beach Resort mostly due to the beautiful location on the beach. The hotel itself is decent looking enough from the outside; however, the rooms are old and are in need on a definite update which I hear is planned. Definitely gave us Rosebud Motel vibes for all the Schitt's Creek fans. The check in was at the Blue Water Hotel. That did not bother us. We drove over there and had no issues checking in. This hotel still gives out heavy solid room keys rather than key cards as they have old locks on the door. These were heavy and awkward to carry around. The rooms are dark and old. The furniture is from the 1990's as I used to have the same old Thomasville cherry furniture that I purchased in the 1990's. The beds are very uncomfortable and old with a very thin quilt. I could not figure out if they were thin from age or thin by design. However, the mattress was encased in a full cover with a zipper which I thought was to prevent bed bugs which was a definite plus. I hope I am right on this one. However, it was just the cover and the bottom sheet separating us from what I assume is a very old and dirty mattress. The bathroom is also very inadequate and small. The toilet flushes for a solid minute and is old. Talk about a waste of water. The door is loud and creaky. The shower was a bit moldy but not as awful as it could have been. The shower head could have been cleaned despite its age as it definitely had rust on it from the water. The AC worked ok - could have been colder. The room did not smell moldy as other reviewers claimed. However, the weather was not as hot and humid when we were there this past weekend. The ceilings are also quite low which gives the room a very dark appearance. Despite all of these issues with the room, it was clean. If it had not been clean, it would have been a real dealbreaker. I would still suggest bringing Lysol. The price for this hotel is quite expensive for the room itself combined with the $25 parking fee. There is no reason to charge for parking considering each car is given a parking pass to display on the rear-view mirror. I doubt anyone even comes around to check that the cars have this tag. In fact, we had absolutely no interaction with any staff at this hotel. There is no one to even complain to about any problems or to ask questions about the surrounding area or restaurant recommendations. We did not eat the food at the hotel at all. The bar was open when we were there and they served lots of drinks and food, but we did not try anything. We did not try the breakfast either. There is no beach food service. You must go up to the bar and order food and drinks and wait for them. The beach is the showstopper for this hotel. It is beautiful. There is a person to bring towels and an umbrella to your beach chair. Despite the age of the umbrellas and towels and some broken chairs that we were able to avoid, the day at the beach here was wonderful. There were plenty of chairs to use and you are also free use the chairs at the Blue Water Hotel. The pool at Riviera Beach was nice. However, we stuck to the beach. Once the hotel is renovated, this should be a great spot to visit. I gave this hotel 3 stars as opposed to 1 or 2 due to the wonderful beach.
