Pasquale who runs the apartments is a true gentleman, who is able to offer in depth knowledge and answers on any questions guests have on Sorrento and the surrounding area. He also offered to assist with bringing heavy bags of shopping up the hill from the shops in the town. The apartment we had was very nice, and was set in the lemon groves above Sorrento, away from the ultra hussle and bussle of the town. The location is very quiet and to us it was a taste of "the real Italy".. My wife and I stayed for a week in July 2018, and the weather was very hot and humid, and although the interesting walk down to the town took between 15-20 minutes (depending on where you were going) the walk back up the hill (quite steep in parts) took between 25-30 minutes, and was hard going in the heat. For those brave enough, the hire of a moped or scooter would be an asset. However, once back in the apartment the location was most relaxing and the lady who lived 2 minutes further up the hill was worth visiting as she sold her own wine (€2 a bottle) and her own olive oil, eggs, mozzarella cheese and bread! Wonderful. This is a lovely place to stay, for those who enjoy a sturdy walk (even a little strenuous on the way back after a busy day). For those who are not so active it may be useful to consider my comments. One major factor in all this is that Pasquale will collect you from the train/bus station on arrival, and get you back there when you depart, which is a true positive.

Arriving into Naples Airport very late at night on a flight delayed by international Air Traffic control we missed the "transfer" bus which our host (Pasquale) had kindly organized for us. That was not the best of starts to a holiday but the stress was made a lot easier because Pasquale came to meet our taxi in his trusty Yaris then brought us to his lovely home. Our accommodation (The Gardenia) in Casale Nunziatina, as many before us have attested, was spacious, comfortable and lacked nothing by by way of facilities. The garden was very soothing to look out on and to sit in while reading; in hindsight perhaps we should have done a bit more of that. This family home is unique and very beautiful. Our accommodation provided us with ample privacy and was an ideal point of embarkation to go down to sample the delights of Sorrento and much of Campania. The town market is at the bottom of the narrow road on which the Casale is situated. With his extensive local knowledge Pasquale was a great point of reference for us when we planned our excursion along the Amalfi Coast - tour bus over & boat back but get you boat tickets when you arrive and be prepared for movable queues (lines for North American readers). The walk back up the hill was daunting at first but we soon got used to it, so much so that when we arrived home in the early hours of the morning, we powered past our fellow travellers to get to the immigration booths before everyone else. Thank you very much for your hospitality Pasquale ( it was a very comparable Italian version of our Irish "Cead mile failte"/"One hundred thousand welcomes" ).

Loved our stay here with Pasquale. Its lovely to be based a bit further out as you feel you're getting more of the Italian setting rather than a standard hotel. Pasquale was really helpful in the booking, arranging of transfers and visits when we were there. The walk for us was perfect (both in 30's) and enjoyed walking off all the pizza we ate but it would probably be too steep for those less mobile. Would definitely recommend staying here.
