My travelling companion and I stayed in the Lilla apartment for three nights in October 2012. The owners, Paolo and Cecilia, met us at the apartment after our 5 minute walk from the main train station/bus depot. First of all the apartment was beautiful! It was carefully and cheerfully decorated with lovely furniture. Unlike most hotel rooms and rental apartments it had personality. It was also beautifully maintained and so, so clean! Paolo said the Residenza has been operating for two years, but the apartment appeared newly renovated. Combining the independence of a rental apartment with the extras of a hotel, the apartment included a mini bar in the kitchenette area with complimentary drinks, toiletries in the bathroom and towels which were replaced daily when Cecilia cleaned the apartment. Other points to mention about the apartment include the outdoor area - great for eating breakfast, if you're a smoker or if you prefer to hand-wash your underwear (there's a clothes airer for this purpose). The small "grassy" alcove just inside the back door with the sun lounger and multi-coloured light was also very cool, and the high-quality iPod dock in the bedroom area was most appreciated too. Oh, and the apartment included WiFi, but the signal could be a bit patchy in the apartment. Now to talk about our hosts, Paolo and Cecilia. I was frankly shocked at their friendliness and helpfulness. Upon arrival at the apartment we were shown the brochures and other tourist information they had procured for us. We had arranged a transfer to the airport with them for very early in the morning, and were regretfully told they couldn't arrange breakfast that early, but Paolo would buy us breakfast at the airport (by the end of our stay we wanted to buy *him* breakfast)! They also live nearby, which was very fortunate as we couldn't figure out how to use the keys after returning from dinner the first night (there's no problem with the lock, it was just different to what we are used to in Australia). Paolo was very understanding, although he must have thought us idiots! Finally, the breakfast was delivered at a time selected by us upon arrival and included coffee, juice, croissants and yoghurt. It was very tasty, but some cold meat, cheese and bread would be welcome additions. Staying at this B&B was a wonderful experience, and only added to our enjoyment of our trip to southern Italy. If I ever find myself in Bari again I won't hesitate to stay here!

“Can't get any better!”

I just spent a couple of days in Bari, and was thrilled to have chosen the Residenza Fulco! A bed and breakfast-experience can hardly get any better. To start with the owners: Cecilia and Paolo are the best hosts one can imagine, very friendly and helpful in any way. The room, or better apartment (because you also get a nice kitchen and a terrace) is spacious, comfortable and nicely decorated. Breakfast was a treat: croissants, juice and a divine espresso, brought to the room at a time of the guest's convenience. Add to that the great location at 15 minutes walking distance from the Old Town, and the vicinity of shops, restaurants and bars, and you know this b&b is a true gem!
