Our favourite accommodation in Southbank by far. A quality building to start with, resulting in no noise from neighbouring rooms or the hallways. Clever design of each suite’s balcony means one can’t see adjoining balconies nor occupants. We were on level 10 in an executive suite which offered access to the balcony from both the bedroom as well as the living room. The kitchen is fully stocked with crockery, cutlery, pots and pans etc for cooking. A Miele washer/dryer combination machine is neatly tucked away in the kitchen. What elevates this hotel from neighbouring hotels is having Reception manned at all times by two experienced staff members. They greeted us each time we exited or entered the hotel through the Lobby and no request was too much trouble or query go unanswered. The indoor pool area was well stocked with pool towels, showers and a gym. Close proximity to the Southgate plaza with its many restaurants, a food court and shops then further walking to the entire Southbank precinct and Crown Casino complex. We visited the Formula 1 exhibition at the Melbourne Convention Centre, an easy flat 21 minute walk from Quay West. We greatly appreciated the hotel’s buffet breakfast too and would like to thank the highly professional staff who managed all diners with speed, efficiency, unobtrusiveness and cleared tables fast. Our stay coincided with guests attending the cricket so we well understood that most diners needed to be served and out of there in time to get to the cricket! This was our best Melbourne hotel experience and we will definitely return.

“Nice accommodation is amazing location”

We stayed here for four nights during the Australian Open. The location right on the river is amazing; heaps of restaurant and bar choices right on your doorstep, and a short walk across the bridge to the CBD. We stayed here for four nights during the Australian Open. The location right on the river is amazing; heaps of restaurant and bar choices right on your doorstep, and a short walk across the bridge to the CBD. Our room had a nice separate living room, dining area and kitchen, as well as a balcony. The breakfast is passable but relatively basic, and the bar area not very exciting, but it is still a very good place to stay. Would gladly come back.
