Have just completed the most fantastic stay at Pilgrimage Village. Having been to Vietnam over 25 times , l can easily say this is one of the best hotels l have ever stayed in. Beautiful surroundings , exactly as if in a village. Had many relaxing and peaceful days by the large pool , with bar and food available. The dinners at night were exceptional with no need to go looking for further variety - huge menu selection. Breakfast was huge and best fruit ever. And to all the staff - thank you for your amazing service and smiles. Sure will be back and looking forward to it too.

Besutiful hotel….. and the service is the best we habe had in Vietnam. Claudia the receptionist has been excellent… residing our minds before we could say it. Great pool, outstanding breakfast. A fairly big size hotel but very smartly spread out. Book 3 days and you get a lot included for free: 90 min massage, a drnk per day, laundry etc. Just great!

“'Lush green grounds and amazing pool!!!'”

We don't usually go for big resorts, preferring small boutique hotels, but, our agent booked us a room for 2 nights here, telling us that it's the best hotel in Hue. And, we were very happy in the end with her choice. What we liked most were the lush green grounds, the amazing big pool and the setting of the breakfast dining room near the water. Our room was also clean and comfortable. Would have like a better view but as we were hardly ever in the room, it was ok. A big thank you goes to Claudia who welcomed us to the hotel and always made sure we were happy. When we were leaving, she walked with us to our car to bid us farewell from there. What service! In general the service standards in Vietnam are very high. We, in the west, have alot to learn from them!

“Nice but rough around the edges”

First of positive: really nice location and only a short drive (taxi around 2$) to the city, the ressort is located in a beautiful suburban area of hue, really green and lush and ä also a lot of sights (abanoned swimpark, tombs…) in the nearer distance. The hotel area is beautifully set in lush gardens seamed with ponds and offers a really nice, large swimming pool. The second swimming pool was under construction during our visit which didn’t bother us at all given the nice setting of the first one. The breakfast was great, a lot of different things to choose from and everything was really tasty. Negatives: -) Grab: you can grab from the City to the hotel but from the hotel to the city there often are no drivers so you have to take a taxi (sometimes there are some waiting in front of the hotel) -) there is a really nice restaurant on the opposite side of the street, but otherwise you have to go to the city to have a nice dinner. The prices in the hotel are quite expensive so we didnt had much motivation to stay in for lunch, dinner or drinks. -) room and roomdesign: although our room and balcony were huge, they seemed a bit cold/empty as there was little to no interior (seatings, paintings, decorations… e.g. one small bench on a huge balcony, not even a table or an additional chair, which made using it difficult) -) „free city tour“: we were offered and booked a „free city tour“, upon arrival at the hotel, they told us that a guide was not included and the only „tour“ there, is the transportation to the emperor’s city. While this is fine as it is a free service provided by the hotel, it seemed quite disappointing and unprofessional to advertise it as a „free tour“. -) Service staff overall: what didn’t sit quite right with us was the overall interaction with the hotel staff. even though they tried to be nice and helpful most of the time it felt a little bit pressuring and simply „too much“ as they requested and used the given mobile phone number to contact us via whatsapp through out our stay (without asking beforehand). Even though it was certainly done with good intentions, to us it felt a bit intruding, especially since we did not feel like interacting with them when not absolutely necessary as the language barrier was quite big (the english of the staff wasnt good at all). however they just kept contacting if we didnt answer them right away. It all felt very much like we had to fit into their schedule and not the other way around, for example right at the beginning of our stay, our room was not ready yet (which was completely fine since it was before check in time) so we decided to dip in the pool for a bit. When the room was ready the called us, which we did not answer as we were in the pool. They then did not take that as a hint and waited for us to call them back but messaged us to come to check in immediately as someone wants to show us to our room now - which we interpreted as a poorly translated way of letting us know we could - point in time up to us - check in from now on. As we were wet we took a bit of time to dry up an went to the reception where they asked us in an accusatory manner where we had been since they had messaged us 20 minutes ago and why we had not answered. This is simply not what we would have expected from a hotel in this category and price range as i simply do not like to be rushed on holiday. In conclusion: overall a nice hotel and a great breakfast. But in our case simply not the relaxing stay we were looking for.
