Clean comfy and definatley vaue for money. Saff were polite and courteous. dont expact the hyatts level of english speaking staff or amenities but for a room, breakfast, wifi and good location the phoenix is great. taxi ride to dino parkand hot springs, great stay, nice and quite, good dark rooms, mini bar and bathroom supplied included. lobby is around the backa dn hard to get to if looking at the front. dont be fooled.

The Changzhou Phoenix is surprisingly good value albeit having the usual slightly musky smells of a locally managed hotel. The rooms are small but clean with no English channels on the TV. Although paying for non-computer rate we found everything in place for an online experience. At Y350 you have to agree this is good value. This includes a very generous breakfast buffet for two. Booking was made directly by phone as it was not available on Ctrip.

The hotel is clean and does not cost a lot per night. It is near to Qing Nian park and there's eateries nearby hence it is not a problem getting food. The rooms are a bit small but is OK for 2 persons to move around. It has all the necessary amenities as per what any 4 stars hotel should have. There's however no swimming pool in the hotel. The breakfast varieties is limited and the food is not up to standard. The noodle is burnt and unable to be consumed. The walkway lighting to the room is very dim and you will feel uneasy if you're alone and especially if you're a female. The lift had some problem when I took on my last day after breakfast. The door closes but it did not move and pressing other floor did not help. After stuck in the lift for a few minutes, it finally open and we quickly change to the next lift.

“Spacious room”

The staff cant speak proper English. It is same with others china based chain hotel with a bad smell. The spacious room but with very poor maintenance. It is not located at the city center and it will take about 10 mins to the WANDA plaza shopping area.

This is a typical Chinese three-star hotel without too much gaudy, ornate decor or pretentious extras. Staff are pleasant, efficient and knowledgeable about transport/eating options in the area. The most pleasing aspect of this hotel is its cleanliness and complete lack of stale smoke odour in the rooms. Our room had a small balcony which overlooked an uninteresting construction site. We investigated the "entertainment" on the third floor where the KTV reaches seriously frightening levels of raucousness. We retreated to the safety of the 15th floor. Breakfast was included in our tariff and consisted of an above-average buffet. Cereals, toast and coffee were among the choices. The hotel is located in the Xinbei New Area, ten minutes by taxi from the train station (weekend, non-peak hour travel) and is best located for those wishing to visit the Dinosaur Park or Dino Valley Hot Springs. It is a ten minute walk to the Dinosaur Park from the hotel. The area around the hotel is a little sterile as it is still developing. However, the Xinbei Public Park, Subway Sandwich Shop, Starbucks and an authentic Indian Restaurant are located within three minutes walking distance. A few, seemingly-deserted, girlie bars open up adjacent to the hotel late at night. Overall our stay was pleasant and trouble-free. This is not a destination hotel. It is a good, functional choice for the tourist or businessman who wants a mid-range hotel with above-average service and cleanliness.
