“Good Parador in magnificent position”

As other reviewers have mentioned, the views are unparalleled. The room we had was very spacious with a nice sitting area, but it was the large terrace that enthralled. Looked straight out over the gorge and the New Bridge and acroos towards the old town. View couldn't be better. We did not eat in the restaurant but did have a couple of plates in the terrace bar, which were good. Breakfasts, though, were below average (other Paradors we had stayed in much better). Good underground parking with easy hotel access. No doubt the strength of this Parador is its positioning.

“Ronda”

A beautiful Parador in an awful town. Ronda has become a tourist trap with all its disadvantages. Unless the government gets a grip on the problem, I probably will not return.

The hotel's location is amazing and we were lucky enough to have a room overlooking the gorge. Private parking for the car in the underground garage was necessary and useful at a cost of about 20 euros a night, but beware of the very narrow entrance. We found the staff on the reception desk a little cool, and were surprised to find out on arrival that we needed to book a breakfast time slot (as well as dinner)- which was a problem as we needed to leave early the next day for a flight, and early times were already booked. They did provide us with an extensive picnic ,however, which served as lunch as well :) The room was clean,spacious and well equipped with a fabulous view, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. We ate in the hotel restaurant in the evening - a fancy interesting menu and the most expensive meal we had during our week in Spain, but not the best and once again the staff were not the most warm and friendly. This hotel has so much going for it with its unique position and style, but there seemed to be something lacking in the ambiance, possibly because of staffing issues.

The location for this hotel was perfect and very close to the historic sites. The service was acceptable, but the front desk was very rude or maybe very busy. They did not accommodate to simple things we asked for. For example we brought our own wine and the front desk said we we unable to open and drink this wine. We also asked for a reservation at the restaurant they recommended. When we arrived to what we thought was our reservation, the restaurant said the hotel never called them and informed them we were coming. We were put in a very uncomfortable position, but luckily the restaurant accommodated us. The front desk never let us know that they were unable to call the restaurant. Overall the hotel was very clean and convenient. They have parking and the pool was open, though it was very cold weather. As we reserved a room with direct access to the garden and pool, it really was not worth it due to the weather- so I recommend booking a simple room for cheaper if the season is still cold.
