The communication between the hotel staff via booking.com was choppy. At first, they wanted 50% of the payment as a deposit. So, I decided to cancel. An hour later, I got a message saying that they could proceed. Then, I decided to agree. Since I didn't hear back about whether a room was available, I emailed via Booking.com to check whether a room was booked. No response. I'm not sure at what point was the communication failure. When I arrived, I told the front desk what happened and asked if a room was available. Luckily, they had me on record. I went to the rooftop restaurant for lunch. Good flavor and well priced. There's a view of the Ganga on the rooftop. Breakfast had a small selection of fruits and Indian dishes. There's a coffee machine. Perfect for me. My room was spacious and the ac was working. The bathroom could be cleaner and they really need to clean up some of the mold. One day there was a group of noisy Spaniards at around 8:30 pm congregating on the first floor where my room was. My neighbor got out and must have said something to them. They disappeared after that. The location is only a 1-2 minute walk to Assi Ghat. There are plenty of street food vendors around. Although I slept well, there were times when the noise level was bad (guests and honking from the street). Bring earplugs if you're sensitive to noise. Also, my Uber driver didn't drive me to the front of the hotel because it's difficult for him to get out. It was a short one-minute walk to the hotel. That was good info so when I checked out, I walked around to the next hotel to book an Uber to the airport.
